Hi everyone! My DH and I are going to start TTC in December, so I figured I'd start brushing up now. Question...I'm on the pill, for those of you that were on it, how long did you go off before TTC? I made an appt with my OBGYN, but figured I'd ask you ladies too. Thanks!

I went off of it 9 months before TTC. I had been on it for 5 years and I wasn't sure how long it would take my body to regulate and how soon we were ging to TTC

My doc had recommended waiting one month. Of course, I didn't heed the warnings, got PG right away and mc'd.

I got off in January and we started trying in March, so I gave my body about 3 months to regulate. It took me 60 days to get AF after going off the pill.

I came off in February and was ovulating by March.
EVERYONE is different though - so remember that. A close friend of mine - it took her 8 months off the pill to ovulate!

We started TTC right after I went off the pill. Every doctor is different. Some will tell you to wait 3 months while others, like my doctor, say you can start TTC right away. Good luck.

EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT! That is the most important thing to realize.
My OB/GYN told me that one month should be fine. I came off in June and haven't had AF since! (My hormones are out of whack- thats a whole other scenario- dont get scared!). I am 26 and was on the pill since the age of 16.
My suggestion is to come off now. You could play it safe for the month in other ways, or just opt to take the risk. What is meant to be, will be!
