Personally Yes, I would find it tacky if I saw that. Tacky that the person having the shower would assume I would spend that kind of money (Not that I wouldn't, just saying). Anyhow, Why not just wait and return what you dont want. Ask for a Gift reciepts.

I also think it is better to simply ask for gift receipts than to tell people what you don't want. JMO.
