Need your opinion please...
Here is a little background...I am 41 and have a 3 year old son. Since delievering my son in 2006, I have had 4 losses, the last one being an ectopic that ruptured my right tube. After numerous doctors telling me I was just having some 'bad luck', I found wonderful Dr. Braverman. He did loads of testing and found out I am positive for the anti-cardiolipin antibodies, anti thyroid antibodies, MTHFR (homo C677) and I also have elevated NK cells and the CD56 cells.
Dr. B said because of my tube issue, the best bet for me would be to do IVF. But, he said I could also try doing it naturally for a cyvcle or two or starting out with IUI. Our insurance covers up to $10,000 for IVF. If you were me, would you try naturally at first or go right to IVF? Whichever way I try I will have to be on Lovenox, Intrlipids, prednisone as well as what I am already taking (baby aspirin, folic acid and a pre-natal)
Thanks....IVF is so new to me that it scares the bejeezes out of me. I appreciate any input that you can give me.

I was just in the position you are in and I wanted to offer some hugs
I had two losses and have a translocation when I went to Dr. Braverman he found that I also had MTHFR and elevated NK cells..for me I really had no choice but to do IVF because of my translocation I need to get PGD testing done on my embryos..I also could not handle dealing with another loss by trying naturally- so for me it was a no brainer.
I guess what I'm trying to say is you need to outweigh the risks and benefits of doing it either way and see what you will be most comfortable doing KWIM?
I just started my IVF cycle so if you have any questions feel free to ask
I will also be doing Lovenox and intralipids and am currently taking prednisone.
Best of luck to you in your decision I know it's hard and it scared the cr@p out of me too-- but it's really not so bad

I would say if you were younger I would try the natural cycles.. Since we have age factor also here I would do IVF.. Your chances are much much higher.. You get more eggs to choose from.. And you have already concieved.. I wasted alot of time and money on the IUI's I did about 11 or 12.. They just didnt do it for me at my age.. I guess the shell around my egg hardened and its much harder to penetrate.. I did the IVF w/ICSI and it worked.. With alll of the treatment you are getting it worked the first time.. I did 2 other IVF's w/out the treatment and they failed.. This is my experience and my opinion.. Good luck sweetie.. God bless any decision you make..

IUIs are a nice way to "get your feet" wet if you're nervous, but I would go straight to IVF.
I also have only one tube (due to an ectopic), but my insurance company required me to fail 6 IUIs before they would pay for IVF. It was a waste of time for me, personally. I got pg on my first IVF attempt.

I totally agree with Diana. I would opt to go straight to IVF. It is very scary to take the step, but if it is going to give you the best chance of conceiving, then go straight there. Good luck!
