Need some Guidance
Have been TTC for 9 months- some months more aggressively than others. Hopefully, this will be my month, if not I want to go see my GYN to see what is going on. I am 37, so it could just be age- who knows! I was not on any BCP and my cycles from 29 to 33 days. So, my question is, do I wait to see if AF arrives and then schedule my appt or do I schedule a proactive in advance appt? I don't know what to expect at the Dr office, so I don't know if I need to go on a certain day of my cycle. I've read something about a blood test on CD 3- if I wait for AF and she shows I may not be able to get an appt on CD 3 and would have to wait another month I am assuming. Any insight as to when to make an appointment or what to expect at such an appt. would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

Re: Need some Guidance
Maybe call your dr and explain this to him/her and see when they think the best time to make the appt will be? If you make the appt before AF arrives, maybe your dr can send you to Quest to have the blood drawn on the appropriate day(s)?

Re: Need some Guidance
Since you are over 35 I don't think you need to/should wait any longer to talk to your doctor.
If this month doesn't work out you will regret waiting even longer than you needed to.

Re: Need some Guidance
I'd call and see what your dr's office says.
My dr takes walk-ins during the day so you wouldn't have to worry about scheduling your CD 3 ahead of time. You just call the day you get AF and let them know you're coming in 2 days later.
If you're about 7-10 DPO though, she may tell you to come now for your progesterone bloodwork. You'll prob also go back for a mid-cycle sono so they can see what your ovaries and uterus are doing.
