Need recommendations for a rectal thermometer please
Anyone have one they would recommend, that they KNOW is accuate? I need a good one. I have the Safety First one but i don't know if it's any good, since I know for sure their ear thermometer is NOT accurate at all. Thanks

So do you think the Safety first rectal is likely better than the Safety first ear? I have both, only tried the ear one (on myself) and it is NEVER accurate. I have yet to take a rectal temp though, to compare.

Summer Infant Three-in-One Family Thermometer
Love, love, love this one! So fast - easy to use and multiple uses as well!
Description Product Description The Three-in-One Family Thermometer from Summer Infant comes with a corded thermometer base much like the one a physician would use. Three adaptable probes are included for oral, rectal and underarm use; thereby hygienically allowing you to use one thermometer for all three purposes. This thermometer delivers fast and accurate readings, beeps when the reading is complete, and will glow red if the temperature registers at 99.9 degrees Fahrenheit or higher - indicating a fever is present. The Fever Alert™ feature makes it easier to get a quick visual reading, especially when taking a child's temperature at night. Thermometer also knows exactly which probe is in use and calibrates the readout accordingly; since typically rectal readings are a degree higher than oral, and underarm readings are a degree lower.

Re: Need recommendations for a rectal thermometer please
Another idea to throw out there....
I just bought this Family Thermometer from BRU:
Safety 1st Family ProGrade Complete Family Thermometer
I love it.... It has an oral probe for older kids and adults, it has a rectal probe, and it has an under the arm probe!
I love it - works sooooooo fast, and even has the temperature differences on the back of the unit so that you can see depending on which probe you are using if there is a fever detected or not.... And if that doesn't make it easier for you... if there is a fever, the unit flashes RED if the machine detects a fever!
