Need help with registry please!
Last weekend DH and I went to BBB and registerd there. I came home and added the link to BBB to Registry.com. (the site that let's you link all different stores into one registry). I started a BRU registry on line. I am starting to wonder why I am even doing two of these. Don't they carry the same thing?
Perhaps I should leave off BRU and just stick with BBB?
Help!

Re: Need help with registry please!
The only reason that I would keep BRU is that it maybe inconvenient for some people to get to. I know that was mentioned a few times the first time I was on this board and it really made sense because DH and I live in South Amityville and the closest BBB is in Huntington and it takes forever to get to but there is a BRU not even 10 mins away from us. Some of the guests invited to your shower may be turned off by that and just decide to get you whatever baby item instead of something that you really wanted or needed.

Re: Need help with registry please!
I think they have similar items, but I understand BBB has a much better selection. I am probably going to do both because much of my family lives on the south shore, Bay Shore/Babylon area and there is not really a BBB anywhere close by. I'm also planning on doing amazon.com for a few things that aren't carried in either store (the co-sleeper I want, diaper bag, etc.)

But can't they order from BBB online? I guess it would be easier for people who don't live near a BBB.

Re: Need help with registry please!
The majority of my registry was on BBB. I only registered at BRU to make it easier for friends who didn't live on LI. Not everyone likes to shop online (and some people procrastinate buying a gift so waiting for an item to be shipped is not possible). I wanted to give them a convenient option.

BBB & BRU: Different inventory, different price points. I'm doing both.

Re: Need help with registry please!
I did both and pretty much split it 50/50. I did BBB for anyone who lives in the city/Westchester and BRU for my local friends. I live in Suffolk on the south shore and felt that BBB would be too far for some of the older people to travel to.

Re: Need help with registry please!
I am just registering at BBB. My hubby's family and friends are all from the Amityville area but I figure HUntington is not that far. I have just heard better things about BBB than BRus.
I was considering registering through Amazon bc there is SO much more selection and the prices are much better for some items but figured that may confuse people. I do plan on getting items that were not bought off the registry from Amazon though!!!

I did both for these reasons!! Convenient and nice things in both! Why not add a 3rd?

Re: Need help with registry please!
I did bru, bbb, and amazon. For all of the same reasons that everyone else mentioned. I live in Suffolk. My shower is tomorrow. 4 items have come off the bbb registry. I ended up adding more to bru because no one was going to bbb. I had some things on amazon mostly doubles o things that were more expensive at the other stores or if I would not budge on a pattern that the other stores did not carry.
That has been my experience this far. We will see what happens tomorrow.

Not everyone likes to shop online, especially older guests.
Also convenience. There is no BBB by my house, but there are 3 BRU. If I did not have a BRU registry, I would probably not get anything I registered for.
The easier you make it for people, the more likely that they will be to buy something you registered for than go and just get something else. At least that is my opinion.

I did all BRU. I personally liked what they had better. And I had no problems with returns or exchanges etc. I was very happy.

I was going to do BRU and either BBB or Amazon but I think I am going to save myself the trouble and just do BRU!

Re: Need help with registry please!
I did BRU and Target. Target is cheaper, but the in store selection varies. Most people assumed I registered at BRU, I think people are just learning about BBB. There are none near me here, or near my family in MD, so I didn't even look at them.
ETA: I wouldn't rely on people shopping online. I love shopping online, but for showers I sometimes wait till it's too late to ship.
