My Sister paid around 550 a week. Thats on the lower end of pricing but not unreasonable, but I know nannys can be a lot more.

I was a nanny 8 years ago...I worked 4 days a week from 7-4 and was only responsible for the baby, the baby bottles, and the baby laundry. I was paid $60 a day and more if they needed me early or late. I was also 23 and it was my first nanny job.

ETA: I'd say $80-$100 a day now is reasonable for a close family friend.

Daycare is a lot less expensive than a nanny for obvious reasons. We've used both so.

Nannies tend to want at least $15/hr, though you can find some for a little less, and some will want up to $20/hr. On a daily rate, you would look to pay at least $110-$120/day or $550-$600/week.
