Need help with figuring out my cycle this month...

So I had a crazy cycle this month. I started spotting on Jan 1st. It started out as brown and then pink/Red. This lasted about 8 days and then I started bleeding a normal AF for another 7 days. I had not cramps at all which is unusual. And while I have spotted in the past before AF, I never did for these many days. I'm guessing maybe I didn't ovulate last month, but not sure. I usually have around 35 day cycles.
I just don't know when to start my day one in this month cycle. Should I start it at the beginning of the spotting, or the beginning of the real bleeding?

I'm not positive but I feel like I may have OV two days after I finished AF. If I counted the spotting as day one, that would of put me at day 17, which is around the time I usually OV.

You should count the first day of FULL FLOW as CD 1 (so, not the spotting).
