Need Help Buying a Mattress
I need to buy a new mattress and I have NO IDEA where to start.
We don't need to but a mattress and box spring. If the box spring is still good, we can just buy the mattress?
We both have bad back problems and feel that our mattress is too soft, we know we want something firm. However, I don't know what brands are good.
We don't have a large budget so I was looking at Sleepys and 800 Mattress.
Can anyone advise on brands to look at and what ones to avoid. Anyone have a firm mattress that they love.
TIA! I appreciate any help/advice.

Re: Need Help Buying a Mattress
def go to Sleepys. I wouldnt go anywhere else for a mattress They actually have a mattress machine thing that you lie down on and it tests whats the best comfort level for each person...and then the salesperson will be able to guide you towards what would suit you.

Re: Need Help Buying a Mattress
Try Macy's. They are having a sale right now and you can maybe find an additional 10% off coupon for Macy's Friends and Family. My IL's have purchased all their mattresses there and they have excellent customer service.
I just researched mattresses for DD and their Serta Perfect Sleepers are a great value.

Do not buy the sleepy's brand mattress. If you go there get a different brand...

We went with Seely, but my friend works for the Ritz Carlton so I bought my Seely through them, they are the mattresses they use in the hotel rooms there.

Re: Need Help Buying a Mattress
I agree about Sleepys- BUT, We went to Macy's found the mattress we wanted (Stearns and Foster "Estate") and then it was WAY cheaper at Sleepys. S&F can't go below a ceartin price, so it really was the same price whether at Macys or Sleepys- BUT, Sleepys threw in Free shipping, free bed frame, free sheet set, and free mattress protector. At Macy's we did get free shipping- but would have had to pay for the "good" bed frame, and mattress protector (and no sheets!), so it did save us hundreds of dollars.
I would go to a place like Macys, shop around, find the best price- We even shopped online, and Sleepys met it- (and most they will beat, except the companies that are not allowed to do that with), this way when you go in, you can just show Sleepys the quote, and be like, I want this, with Free shipping, frame, sheets, and mattress pad!

Re: Need Help Buying a Mattress
we bought a plush S&F mattress from Sleepy's 8 years ago, HATED dealing w/ Sleepy's....the sales guy was nice but we had issues and their customer service was not good. we've never been happy with our mattress but stuck it out for years so we didn't waste the money we spent.
We just bought a new mattress from Bob's....the bob-o-pedic firm, it was just over $1K and it was so comfy I could have fell asleep right in the store just laying on it lol...can't wait for it to be delivered!!

Re: Need Help Buying a Mattress
Go somewhere and try a temper-pedic out. Then sign up for O-mail (Overstock.com). They will email you a coupon for 10%. Order the Serta temper-pedic one. I got them for all 3 of my kids and they sleep like rocks. (My kids are teenagers)
Delivery is $2.95!!! Plus you can keep your box spring.
Just a suggestion.
