Need good thoughts......(and diaper or yeast infection?

tomorrow is baptism and dd has redness I'm hoping is just a diaper rash( just put on triple paste to it). Hoping its not a yeast infection(is there anything over the counter for that?

Did the triple paste stay on the rash or seem to wick away? I've noticed with DS when he has a yeast rash NOTHING wants to stay on it. Is the skin raw like a sunburn or just extra pink/red? If more like sunburn then that could be a yeast rash. Is there any specific reasons you're thinking yeast based?? How long has she had the redness??

If it is yeast based, what usually works best for DS is anti fungal cream. Name brand is Lotrimin, generic is Clotrimazole. I put that on the rash along with a thin layer of a&d ointment being careful to not rub the lotrimin away. I do it a minimum of 3-4 times a day, extra at night, and continue for a day or two even after the redness is gone. If its super super bad I add cortizone cream to the lotrimin and use that.

There is a prescription (nystatin) you can get as well, but the OTC remedy has always worked, and I don't need to waste a $15 copay to get the script when I already know what it is.
