Help! Is this a diaper yeast infection?
I really don't know what else it could be. Ever since starting DD on solids last month she has had what I thought were diaper rashes a few times. I can never understand why b/c we change her often, I use A&D ointment in every diaper, sensitive wipes and swaddler diapers. I know we are doing everything right and she still keeps getting them. She also had one when we started her on cereal at 4 months but then we stopped the cereal since she didn't take to it well. Once I see it coming on, I start right away with the diaper rash cream and it still doesn't seem to help that much. The rash has these little pimple like bumps and honestly the only thing that helps is when I put my breast milk on it (dont think I'm crazy, I read how it can really help diaper rash since it has extreme healing properties). I read to get an over the counter fungal cream. Anyone have experience with this? What kind should I get? Is there anything else we can do to try to prevent this? Does it sound to you like it's a yeast problem? Any advice would be appreciated.

It does sound like a yeast problem. BM is great for healing! I would also get an RX for nystatin (sp) from your ped. It should clear it up

My ped tells me to not come In. For those since dd gets them. Just go to cvs and get lotramin cream, for Athletes foot, and cortisone cream, for itchiness. It works great. I save a to by not paying for copays and expensive cream. I put it on 3 times a day. Morning noon and night. I lather it up and it works. SOmetimes it takes a while. It I usually notice it a little by the end of day 1

Yep, sounds like yeast. DD gets them all the time unfortunately. Just get Lotrimin AF (by the athlete's foot stuff) and apply it 3 times a day for three weeks.

I really cant help bc dd never has it that bad... but Ive gotten into the habit of putting on triple paste after shes pooped and reg a&d when she pees... seems to be working this way...
As for the BM healing all... It truely does... I should have saved some... I had a stye over the summer and people thought I was crazy for putting BM on it.. Yes, I put BM on my eye... And guess what? It was gone in 2 days... As oppossed to 1 week...

This is what I do with ds. I also add a little layer of a&d on top without trying to rub in too much. If its really bad I do it every diaper change. Also, I continue for a day or two after it looks like its gone away. I stopped too soon once and it came back with a vengance!!
