Need furniture help (China storage)
We had a china cabinet in our apt (an old crappy hand-me down that was really just for storage and kind of hidden), but in the house i wanted to get a buffet instead. Unfortunately, after taking inventory, there's really NO way that everything that needs to be stored in it will fit in a buffet alone (even a long one). the space we're working with where it will go is 5' long.
I don't want a china cabinet, but need something similar. What i'm picturing for the area almost looks like an armoire, but for china (basically, similar to a china cabinet but w/o glass doors or the typical 'china cabinet' look). BTW- our dining set is a dark cherry wood color and the seats have brown leather on them, too. Any ideas or suggestions? or an alternative that i haven't considered? Thanks!

i love the look of a buffet, is there a hutch you can get to go on top? even a smaller one so you still have plenty of space on the buffet.

Buffet with open floating shelves. It's more modern, clean BUT realize you must dust/clean everything on the shelves.
They are starting to show more shelving instead of cabinets even in kitchens. I think it looks nicer if you like to see dishes/cups but you have to dust it or clean it weekly.

Have you tried antique stores? My brother's china cabinet, which was my parents, and grandparents does not have glass doors - it looks more like an armoire, with a carved wood design on the outside.
