Need a little help...

So this is my first month TTC-I have been asking questions and u guys have been great-Im just so confused!!! So I went out to buy an OPk yesterday-first question, does it matter which one??
Tested yesterday and today, apparently I am not ovulating--so do I just keep testing everyday?? I am worried, could it be wrong and what if I miss my O date?? Should I just BD every other night?? So many questions, sorry!!!! TIA!!!

Re: Need a little help...

ask away hon - that's what we're here for.

1. make sure you are doing a 4 hour hold.

2. make sure you are testing between noon and 8:00 PM. the hormone that you are testing for - builds in your body as the day goes on. FMU is NOT good enough (usually).

3. Brands don't matter - use whatever you can afford. Personally - i like the Target ones, very well priced & they work just fine!

4. Test every day, you may need 2 boxes of tests, but it's your best bet.

I use the Clearblue Easy Digitals, they are so easy to use and read. When do you usually ovulate? What is making you think you missed it already? The box says to start around CD 10 and then just test everyday until you get your smiley. It might mean you use a lot of sticks the first month, but then you'll have a better idea of when to start next month (if necessary Chat Icon )

Re: Need a little help...

i use the Clear blue easy digital as well !!
i just started using them 2 days ago.. i started at CD10, and i will continue to use them till i get the smiley face.. which means you are about to ovulate the next day or 2..

that kit comes with 7 tests, so if your cycles are generally regular, you should start around CD10.

i also just BD every other day just incase it doesnt pick up my surge.. so its a back up really!!

Re: Need a little help...

Thanks so much, so nice!!!!

This is why I am so happy I ask these questions, because I took the test at 6:30 AM-it was bothering me so I did it then-and obviously I had four hour hold there--maybe I'll try again later :)

At first I was just going to try to do this for the first time with nothing but my gut that I was O--but then I started looking online and must of did like 10 Ovulation calendar predictors--and all of them say according to my last period--this week should be when I O-the dates b/w 2-6--so I was relying on that info--so we started to BD accordingly, but then yesterday I went to buy the OPK and it says that I am not O.Thats kind of why I was thinking that I missed or ovualtion has passed already from the calendar info.

I know that my cycle is a little irregular since going off the pill(I got my last period 5 days earlier than the month before)-so I guess the prediction calendars would be more for someone who is regular??

I dont know if this is possible to answer but approx how many days after ur last period, do u ovulate?? I am on CD 12 today!!!!

Re: Need a little help...

i am on CD12 today also!!!

ok first.. dont take the OPK's test in the morning! especially FMU.. i always take it after work at 5pm.. and dont drink or pee 4hours before..

i used to follow the Ovulation predictor calculators on the websites as well.. and i actually still use them while i take the OPK's.. its like a double test..

for a girl that has regular AF's , the typical O date is CD14.. so you are most fertile 2 days before that.
so if you are BDing every other day AND taking the test at the right times.. you should be ok!
