nebulizer
They are 2 different rx's.
1 is Saline. Its like those Saline sprays you would get in a drugstore over the counter BUT its in a vial and its specific for the nebulizer. Its NOT medication, just Saline. Nebulizer just breaks it down to smaller particles which helps to break up the congestion better...
2. Albuterol is a Steroid. Drs usually rx this IF the cough is very bad and can be heard badly in the chest with symptoms such as weezing.
You can ask your Dr for saline. I give this to my dd at any sign of congestion or cough because its safe its not medication. I only use Albuterol when he directs me to.

Re: nebulizer
1.) Saline for cold and congestion
2.) Albuterol is not a steroid it is a bronchodilator which Is used to relax and open the airway to get more air in
3.) Pulmicort is a steroid and is usually used in combination with albuterol bc it is used to lessen the inflammation in the lungs that occurs when you're having an asthma like condition
My child has reactive airway disease so when she gets a cold virus allergy anything really simple she gets a wheeze and sometimes labored breathing where she needs number 2 and 3 and sometimes if the combination isn't working and is very severe she is given an oral steroid on top of it called prednisolone
