Has anyone given a nebulizer treatment while your toddler was sleeping?

Has anyone given a nebulizer treatment while your toddler was sleeping?
did it wake them.. im so afraid of it causing DC to wake and then hes up then hes wired.. but i have to give it to him

It's fine to do so. My son never woke up. I just turned the mask so it faced him laying down. As long as the steam is going into his nose/mouth it's fine. You can even take the mask off and put the tube up to his face.

i tried this because when DD fought me every time i had to give her a treatment (which was every 3 hours) when she had pneumonia. what woke her up was the sound of the machine (the motor) and once she saw it, she freaked.
Also, i don't know how old your child is, but when DD first had pneumonia at 7 months, the nebulizer had a binky on it and the steam came through the top of the binky...worked like a charm. it was the second time when she got it again at 18 months that she fought me because she didn't like the binky on the nebulizer anymore and she started to get scared of the noise of the machine. sadly, i bribed her... we watch elmo videos on youtube during treatments. that always worked!
