Natura Flat Finish-- cleaning/washabiity
Editing because DH posted this for me while I was at the store.
My contractor told me that the Natura Flat finish (comparable to Matte) is not washable per the guy at the paint store.
This concerns me with a small child, etc. Was curious as to how NOT washable it is.
I am not changing the paint colors, because he is buying paint today and I cannot deal with picking new colors from a new company.
Should I have him just get the regular BM paint in matte?

Does anyone have matte finish paint on their walls? Have you had to clean dirt, scratches or anything else off the walls? Did you have any problems?
Benjamin Moore Natura only comes in Matte and Semi-gloss finish. I'm pretty sure I don't want to have to put semi-gloss on the walls.
Can anyone give me feedback or advice?

Re: Cleaning walls painted with a matte finish
I just painted our baby nursery with Sherwin Williams Duration paint in Matte finish. It is scrubbable.. the guy showed us in the store.. he was able to wash off crayon and markers.
It also comes in gloss, but I never liked the shiny look on the walls. I accidentally did my bathroom in glossy and I still hate it to this day!

we have the Natura matte.....no problems with it,we actually like it, but we don't have kids yet so I can't speak about crayon or markers.

We went with matte so we could wash and touch up the paint without having to repaint the entire wall.

DO NOT USE MATTE RANDI!!!!
DO NOT!!! Go with Eggshell.
Way back before DD we had our whole house painted. Our painter suggested Matte. We went for it. I hated it and still do.
YOU CANNOT WASH IT. So I do NOT wash my walls, which kills me. Next house eggshell for me in every room.

Really? I have matte by BM and if you try to scrub it, paint comes off and it gets "Burnished"....shows a rubbed look and odd spot on the wall.
Never again for me.

i think I have matte now-- so, no major problems and it's very easy to touch up.
I told him hours ago to just go with it-- so, it is what it is!
BM's site says it's washable.

I have BM Regal matte in my master bedroom and HATE it! It looks and photographs great, but maintenance is a b*tch. It scratches and chips too easily and I found that it's not so easily washable.
I'll only use Natura Egg Shell on the walls from now on. It's what we used in our hallway & closets and I love it! I wish it was available when we painted all our other rooms.

Don't do it!
Regardless of whether you have kids or not, you will go nuts! I had to clean a wall from a smudge that was on it and when I did, the paint ended up changing the color. so the patch I had wiped was brighter than the rest of the wall.

The Aura paint in matte washes really well, I have had problems with the Regal Matte but Aura was great.

That's what our painter used, Regal Matte and I forgot to say, yes, it chips SOOOO easily. It's awful. Def not with kids, but just as bad with adults. You can literally walk by or brush up against it and get a burnished spot on the wall. Awful.

I found that Eggshell is the best. Its not shiny and not matte.
Believe me you cannot wash matte. It AHOWS EVERY LITTLE THING too its really annoying, dirt, fingerprints, etc. Horrible!
