Nurseries with stripes painted on the walls
Did you hire a painter or did your DH's do it? I'm so anal, I'm a little scared to designate this task to DH!

If he has a level and you behind him I think they will come out fine  
I would get a quote and see what it is. I know for one room they start around $350-400 and that is usually just one color.

Neither - I did it 8 mos pregnant. I paced myself - measure one day, taped another, and I think painted either 1 day or 2, don't remember. I LOVE how it came out, I'm actually really sad to leave it when we move since DC2 won't get to live in it.
These pics are from before DS was born so nothing looks like this anymore but you can see the stripes.

Honestly, it's not difficult at all. To save the $ I'd say you should tape it out so you can measure and be 100% on the stripes, etc and then just make DH paint them - once the tape is up, it's nothing to paint.
I would recommend that the stripe, in addition to being a different color, be in a different finish (eg if your walls are flat, use satin for the stripe, etc). It makes them pop even more.

My sister and I did it. DH painted the whole room, and then we did the stripes -- one day, actually just a few hours. It wasnt difficult. I think I was 6 or 7 months pg at the time. But I didn't have a toddler to run after!!
You can't see them too well in these pics....but you can stop over and see them in person

DH and I did the stripes in DS's room. the longest part was measuring and making sure the stripes were level. If we can do it, anyone can.
