My poor mother and sisters...Update 7/13
They went to North Shore to get a puppy cuz they missed Casey (their chihuahua who died a few weeks ago) and they found an adorable puppy that had just come in with her littermates.
They adopted her and picked her up about two weeks ago.
She had kennel cough and was seen by the NSAL vets and their regular vet. All of a sudden, after her getting her second shots, this past Friday she got super sick and since the regular vet was closed they took her back to NSAL. Anyway, she's been there all weekend and they ran blood - turns out she has Parvo. Now it's on a day to day basis as to wether she will make it or not.
I can't really say anything bad about NSAL - they tested her, but it must have still been in incubation. And they are watching her 24/7 and letting my sisters visit her. It's just so sad that this adorable little puppy may not even make it. Plus, now my mom is worried her other dog might get it.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers.
Anka (the puppy) is doing a little better. She is still on strictly IV fluids and antibiotics, but when they went to visit her last night she was able to stand on her own for a few minutes and she was licking my sister to death when she held her. She is responding well to the blood transfusions and is stable at this point. They aren't sure yet wether she will ultimately fight off the Parvovirus but she is doing a bit better.
Pookie(the other dog) was tested to see if he has enough antibodies to fight off the virus and it looks like he should be okay. If he did get it, the symptoms will show in 7-14 days. They gave him an additional vaccine just to be sure.
So, that's where we stand now - hopefully this little girl will get better.
Update - 7/13
Looks like Anka beat the Parvo Virus!!! She's eating a little and moving around...she even tried to play a little when we visited her tonight. She is so skinny and weak, but she wags her little tail when we do anything for her.
The vet tech said she should be coming home in a few days and that they are amazed that she pulled through, apparently two of her littermates didn't make it.
This little girl is going to be so spoiled when she comes home!

I'm sorry. Hope the puppy will be okay. I would keep a good watch on your mom's other dog. Look for bloody, muchosy stool that smells like nothing you have ever smelt before, and to make sure he/she is alert and not lathargic and also stays hydrated. Parvo is highly contagious. I am sure your mom's dog is updated on shots though so he/she should be fine

Oh no!!!! Poor little puppy. It must be horrible for your mother and sisters after loosing Casey to have this little one and now have it be sick. for the puppy.
