Its the hardest thing i ever had to deal with. Losing a parent is horrible. I never thought this would ever happen to my dad.
He had leukemia, as some of you know and he needed a bone marrow donor. Well, he is no longer a bone marrow candidate. He is just too sick to get the transplant and its just a waiting game now. They basically told my mom that he is dying. There is nothing that they can do since now he is not a candidate anymore.
My mother died from Leukemia. They gave her the option of a bone marrow transplant, but she declined since they said it would only prolong her life by 6 months and surgery would be difficult so those 6 months would not be the best quality of life.
Jennifer, I am so sorry you have to go through this. If you need someone to talk to, Please FM me. I lost My mother in 2004 and my father in 2006. I know what you are going through. Please also post this in the Bareavment forum on LIF. There are a lot of people in there that you can talk to, who have gone through what you are going through right now. Scott
