My baby boy is here!!
I went in Wednesday morning for a scheduled C-section. My baby had been breech since 28 weeks so they ended up scheduling a c-section for 39w2d.
I was okay at first but right before I had to go in I got really nervous. Walking into the operating room was scary! Luckily the whole procedure took about half an hour and everything went fine. I was so relieved when I heard that first cry!
Brian Patrick Jr. was born at 10:03AM weighing 8lbs even and measuring 20 inches.
When we were brought into recovery we found out that Brian wasn't letting out any big cries. He had fluid in his lungs and was trying to get it out. I found out he would have to be brought to NICU for a minimum of 48 hours. I was just happy that I was finally able to hold him. (Since it was a c-section, I didn't get to hold him right away- DH held him up by my head).
That night found out that Brian had a small hole in his lungs (hearing that freaked me out but apparently because of the fluid in his lungs). They would continue to monitor him in NICU. The nurses in NICU were great. It was so hard to visit him though. He was a different floor then me so I would have to take a wheel chair down. I hated seeing him attached to so many wires and having an IV in his little hand.
By Friday (after his 2 days of monitoring) Brian was fully recovered and able to come up and stay with me! The hole had closed itself and he was breathing fine. We ended up going home on Sunday.
We're both doing well now. I'm a little sore and still recovering- its hard to get up and down but luckily DH has off for 2 weeks to help out.
