My Amazon find
Mine was through epackets too. It's a China shipper. I tracked it and it says delivered in Italy.
Yeah this whole thing is a scam.

Ok, so I just called Amazon. Was connected to someone I could barely understand. I asked if they were in the US, they said no. I asked to speak with someone in the US.
Opened a case. I should have my refund within two weeks, probably less. The seller is already off Amazon.

I called Amazon and started an investigation.
The seller seems to have stolen the pictures of the rug from the legitimate seller and posted his own listing.
Amazon said our credit cards are not compromised as they do not give that information to sellers. Amazon actually transfers the money to them. They said it will take about two weeks to complete the investigation and get a refund.

This is why you have to be wary of third party sellers and only use ones with a lot of positive reviews. Apparently these shady ones bank on the fact that a small number of people won't bother seeking a refund.

I am also wary of anything from China. I never use that AliExpress or any of those sites.
Too risky and not worth it
I would rather pay more to know its legit

You know that saying...if it's too good to be true...it usually is. I order from China all the time and always get my stuff. But this screamed scam from the start.

I am surprised by this too. eBay I know has some sketchiness - but I thought Amazon was basically always legit, even if the item is from a third party seller. Good to know, and I'm kind of disappointed to learn this!

Amazon recently opened their market to foreign based sellers. That is why there is a huge increase in the number of China merchants. Amazon has the A to Z guarantee and I have found them to be very good about backing up the purchaser. But now when shopping on Amazon I try to stay away from anything that does not look like a domestic seller.

I never buy from 3rd parties on Amazon. Plus if it seems too good to be true it probably is. I've never had any issues from Aliexpress, everything I've ordered was delivered before the estimated date and seemingly good quality. Plus aliexpress offers a guarantee for items purchased through their site. I don't believe sellers see any of your personal payment information nor do they receive payment until the item is delivered.
