musical instruments for baby?
DS is 8 months & I want to get him some 'instruments'----any you can recommend---a lot I have seen are for older children

Ohh...where to begin! We have so many musical instruments.
Maracas
Rhythm sticks (bang beats on them, rub them together)
There is a great music store in Port Jeff that sells lots of "kids" instruments.
We have made homemade instruments.
Also we used to go to Musicgarten classes and so we have a "kit" from that.

Ale has it and she is really just "Eh" about it. She prefers the real instruments we've picked up on trips =- rainstick in Sedona, drum in Grand Canyon, flute in Santa Fe....

DD loves the egg shakers! We also have a little piano that lights up (by Fisher Price) and the Little Superstar piano/kareoke toy (by Fisher Price). We got it at Toys r' Us. Also maracas and rhythm sticks (that I supervise while she plays with).

Just wanted to let you know- I was just at the BJ's in Islandia (not sure where you live) but they have a musical instrument set , very similar to the Bee Bop Band for $19.99 !!!!...So if you happen to be in there check for it

Maybe ours was just a dud- but my DS tore right through the paper on the tambourine and the screw that the holds the handle on one of the cymbals came off (so if you do get it, just be careful with the cymbal ),,,It never went back on right
