Multiples and IF Treatments
How do you ladies feel about the possibility of multiples with IF treatments?

Re: Multiples and IF Treatments
On a serious note, I am not too concerned with it. We are not doing stim fert drugs with IUI which is where you can get into crazy multiples. We are doing IVF and RE will be putting back in two embies. My center has a very low triplet rate. I would feel blessed with twins...then I could "close up shop" and never have to go through this darn IF process again...

Re: Multiples and IF Treatments
Since I am just starting my 4th IVF I would be thrilled and have more then one but one would be a blessing too.

Well, I had 5 follies this past cycle, so I am somewhat concerned, but honestly, if I get multiples that will just be multiple blessings. I just want one, but if I get more than one, I would be thrilled.

In absolute agreement, except I would replace the word 'darn' with more of an expletive.

ITA!
At this point, one/two/three blessings would be GREATLY welcomed! ETA: Well, maybe not three....

Re: Multiples and IF Treatments
There are about 4 or 5 sets of twins in my family within recent generations all on my mother's side of the family. Im a non-medicated IUI patient who does not have issues with ovulation. If it reached a point where we would need to create more targets, I would be a little fearful that I could hatch like a chicken farm. As much as I would welcome and feel blessed with twins, I don't know how I would feel with the possibility of any MORE than two at once. Being older, there are more risks and I know I would be a nervous wreck. Sounds crazy, but thats how I feel for myself. I would more than likely have to stop working or take a leave of absence as my entire salary would end up going towards child care and we simply cannot afford that right now.

Re: Multiples and IF Treatments
To answer my own question, I am scared to death of multiples for many reasons. This month I did injectibles and IUI and am now in the TWW and very nervous because I had four big follicles and a bunch of little. My doctor told me there is a 20-25% chance of multiples with injectibles and IUI.

I agree on all points. My best friend has twins and while it has been a great joy, it has also been challenging-especially if you get 2 babies with strong personalities. I would be happy with twins-not sure about my DH he kind of wavers. More than twins...

Re: Multiples and IF Treatments
I would be happy with twins. It might be a little hectic being as I have a toddler, but then, as some of the other posters said- I wouldnt have to deal with all this IF again and that would be wonderful !

Re: Multiples and IF Treatments
I never even entertained the fact that I could have twins when i was put on clomid. With only a 8% chance, I figured, I've never won anything in my life, it wont happen now, i'd be lucky to get one. When I first found out i was having twins I was shocked and scared but its been the most AMAZING blessing and it made all my time dealing with IF worth it. God had a plan for me

I'm still doing 100 mg of clomid with IUI, (I had it this morning! WIsh Me luck!)....I had 2 large follies on the left which should be good to go...there is not a great chance of having both, but whatever I get I get!
