Multiple registries?

So I have 2 registiries. Buy Buy Baby & Babies R Us. I would have just done BBB; but my Mom insisted I register somehwere else since their only store near us is in Westbury & BRU is more accessible.

Anyway-I feel like my registry is mainly BBB. I'm adding things to BRU; but a lot of it is duplicates of things on the BBB registry! How do you split the two? I have basics (onesie packs; burp cloths; towels; swaddle blankets; sheets etc) duplicated on both. I don't want to put a high chair on both and end up with two. Or Put the PNP on both.

How should the registries be split? In the same breath if BBB really is THAT far out of the way for people; I want to make sure my guests can buy what they want from BRU. So do I just duplicate and return anything we don't need?? TIA!

It's up to you as people do different approaches. It could feel weird to guests if you receive a lot of duplicates at your shower - that's kind of the point of registries. This happened to me at a friends bridal shower, she received a duplicate of what I got her and I felt bad knowing one would be returned as I wanted it to be a really special gift.

Here's what I did:
I did diapers.com and buy buy baby. I split up some of the gear based on which store had the item cheaper, which store carried the color I liked, etc.. I have the high chair one one place and the pack and play on the other for example. So each place has a selection of low-mid-and high priced items.

I also tried to put like things together for the most part so all my bath stuff is on diapers.

I think it's fine to duplicate onsies, towels, etc. as you will need multiples of these things anyway. I wouldn't duplicate the big ticket items, but that's just me.

Re: Multiple registries?

BRU is a pain in the neck about returns and their coupons have tons of restrictions. I'd put the larger/pricier stuff on the BBB registry and smaller items on BRU.

Multiple registries?

Why not do BBB and Target instead? Target is so super convenient for everyone.

Are most of the ppl coming to the shower by your mom? If so I would put most on BRU. As long as its on the registry and unopened they take it back. I got a lot of doubles and they didn't give me any problems. I had the same issue with my first baby. I wanted to to BBB but no one I knew lived close. Target is a good place too but they don't always carry the same stuff online and in stores and each store has a different selection. Good luck.

Re: Multiple registries?

Thanks everyone!! I definitely don't want to offend any of my family/friends if they buy a big item that was duplicated on both registries. I like the idea of bigger items at BBB and the other small stuff at BRU. I never even thought of Target. I might have to look into their registry program. I really don't like BRU I've gone in to shop for other people and seen the price differences between online and the store nd I've heard too many stories about them it makes me not want to even register there!
