More solids questions!
My DD is also 6 months. We started solids fairly recently, and I feel so lost!
So far we have tried apples, banana, pears, and I plan to do avocado next. What other fruits can I do?
Also, how much should I be giving her? Right now we are just doing once a day, I will be doing twice a day within the next week. I currently make my own and I give her two frozen cubes worth with a teaspoon or so of rice cereal mixed in. Is that enough?
Ugh why does this seem so hard??

i think the amount is good. u can up it to twice a day, you can do the newer food in the AM and do a food she has already had in the PM. your ped should give you a list of foods you can do. by that age, you can try sweet potatoes(super easy to make by the way), squash, carrots, peaches...anything you can find in the store for stage one. go to the wholesomebabyfood website for ideas. I feel ya! I think we just tend to overthink it because we want the best for the baby and we don't want to "mess it up". At least thats what I feel. I outlined what we do right now in my other post. I think I'm going to do oatmeal and fruit in the morning and then oatmeal and a veggie at night

6 months I was doing 2 times a day. My dd wasn't a huge eater BUT absolutely LOVED squash. And pears. those were her 2 faves. I would say go for anything! Just avoid any high allergen foods of course.
Orange veggies are easiest to digest- squash, carrots, sweet potatoes Apples, bananas, peach, pear, mango, avocado Peas, Broccoli (watch for gas) spinach,
Go try stuff. I was so nervous about what I gave my dd too but I realized just go for it! LOL

The only other fruits I remember giving early on were peaches and mango. DD was on one meal a day until 7 months and then we added the third at 8 months. As long as you're giving bm or formula before solids, then I wouldn't worry about how much. You can give as much as she'll eat. Their main source of nutrition is still bm or formula and the food is really just for the experience. So you really don't have to worry about how much and what they're eating. Just have fun with it!

That's exactly how I feel! Do you mix the fruit/veggie with the oatmeal or feed it separately? How much of each have you been giving?

i do about 1-2 tbsp of oatmeal and then i feed her about half the jar of just the veggie/fruit so she can get a taste, then mix the rest with the oatmeal

At the beginning, I put it in a sectioned dish and fed them a scoop of this, then a scoop of that. I just wanted them to taste things individually, although it's probably not necessary! They're going to keep changing tastes, you'll see. Do what works for you. I moved on to 2oz after a week or so. my DD's eat so much, omg

Re: More solids questions!
My DD is 6 months. There is no right answer! It's whatever your DD will take. Right now my DD eats: breakfast- cereal and pears lunch- a veggie dinner- a jar of protein and another fruit. The last few nights she's been super hungry so she's been eating cereal with this meal too. snacks- puffs and Mum Mums This is all in addition to 28-30oz. of formula. She's a little chunka munka!
We've also offered her bits of our meal when we are eating: mashed potatoes, chicken burgers and pancakes. So far she is looooving food! Don't worry about messing up and don't overthink it. Just have fun with it!

Be careful with too much oatmeal. Oatmeal loosens up the Bowles. Dd gets oatmeal and fruit in morning and rice and veggie at night.
