My favorite thing is to go out to dinner with just DH. We always have great conversation, great wine/drinks, great food. Once DC#1 was about 9 months old we would go out and just ask our parents to watch the monitor. We've gotten very lucky with DC#1 never waking in the middle of the night.

Before DD, we would go out to dinner every Friday night and Sat night...I loved it..and obviously it's not that cut and dry bc DD has a very early bed time and I'm anal about her going to bed on time...I also totally miss shopping for clothing withouth a child screaming to get out of the stroller...but we'll keep her

Ooooh, this is a good one too. Totally forget what it's like trying to shop without a toddler pulling every item of clothing off the racks

I miss how easy it was to run into say a CVS without a child now if I have to make a run to CVS it requires real motivation! Quick trips and then trying to get her back into a car seat are horrible!!!! They really should make a drive through for the busy mom where you can pull up and be like 1 pack of diapers, some wipes and my prescription!!!

Lying in bed until 11:00 AM on my days off! Nothing like a good, long sleep. I'm a teacher and didn't get out of bed until 11:40 this morning. Aaaaahhhh.

Going out for dinner/ happy hour w/o planning ahead, sleeping in, going anywhere w/ just a small bag. It always amazes me how much stuff moms have to bring everywhere. I went to the beach with a towel the other day, hopefully that won't be happening next summer

Going to the gym and dinners out, although DH and I always say we will bring our baby to the restaurants with us. But what do know, "we dont have children". (Cant you hear my sarcasm)

DH and I used to do a lot of dinner's out on the weekends and a lot of bike trails. We have already pretty much given those things up because we already have a 2 year old.

TOTALLY agree! Due in 9 days and will definitely miss that! I will also miss just being able to "get up and go" without lugging a baby around! I am imagining the outings might be a tad more of a headache.

The hardest thing for me was the realization that your life is so not about you anymore and what you want truly doesn't matter. My DD comes first and it's just the way it has to be. I would love to sleep in late or go hang out all night but it just doesn't happen anymore. We're on our DD's schedule so we no longer have the luxury of doing whatever it is we want to do and when we want to do it. I am up every day by 7:30 and I literally hit the ground running and I don't stop until my DD is in bed at 8pm. It's a busy, crazy day BUT.................I wouldn't have it any other way!!!!! I wouldn't go back even if I could, I LOVE my new life.......exhausting as it may be at times!!
