Monday QOTD

Happy Memorial Day Ladies Chat Icon

I hope you all have the day off to relax.

I apologize in advance if I repeat any of the QOTD. Unfortunately, I don't get as much time during the day as I would like to be on the boards, but I am going to do my best. Plus, there seem to be quite a few new ladies here so a repeat may not be so bad.

So, have any of you thought of what your ideal birth plan would be WHEN you are preggo? Do you hope for a V-birth or C-section? Natural or with meds? Who do you plan on having in the labor/delivery room with you?

Honey please! The more drugs the better!! LOL Give me an epidural stat!

I would definitely prefer a v delivery opposed to a c delivery.

Re: Monday QOTD

Personally, I am afraid of c-sections. I don't handle incisions/scars very well. I tend to get dizzy and pass out whenever I see things like that. Although, I know that there really is no way of controlling these things, and I would probably do whatever my dr. told me, ideally, I want to have a v-birth.

As far as meds - I plan to give the whole "natural" birth thing a shot but I don't have a high tolerance for pain so I've told DH that the one word he needs to remember to listen for is "EPIDURAL" Chat Icon But again, this is my ideal situation and I know that anything can happen.

I personally am not a big fan of the whole "audience" when giving birth. DH and I have decided that during the delivery it will be just us. But I'm sure that I would have my mom and my sisters come in for a while during labor. My sisters make me laugh like no one else, so I'm hoping to have them around for a little as a distraction. I'd also probably invite MIL and SIL to come in depending on the state I'm in. Chat Icon

Re: Monday QOTD

good question! def. not new for me since I am new. My ultimate plan would be V-birth with no meds! My Mom did it for my sister and I, so I feel empowered to do it too!!! BUT......i am def. not naive to the fact that stuff happens and let's face it the pain is hard. So, I will be open to all options that are best for baby and me.

I just don't want an unnessecary C-section bc the dr. doesnt want to stick around for a long labor. It just seems lately that a lot of people I know who have had babies recently ALL had c-sections. For some reason this seems to be the norm now a days.

As far as people in the birthing room...def. DH for labor and delivery....and I was thinking my Mom and sister for parts of the labor.

I hoped for lots of things and unfortunately I got exactly what I didn't want when my DD was a born..........a C-section. While it's nice to want your birth to happen a particular way I can tell you from experience that it's best to educate and prepare yourself for all of the possibilities of childbirth because you never know how it's all going to go down.

Ideally, I would've loved to deliver vaginally but it didn't happen that way. Next time around I would love to try for a VBAC but I know that might not be possible.

Ideally V birth and natural. But obviously whatever is safest for baby and me.

Re: Monday QOTD

My ideal is a completely natural V birth. But I won't be against an alternative if that's what is safest for the baby and myself. We'll see what happens!

As far as whose in the room, during labor I would allow my mom, sister, SIL's, best friend and probably even my dad in addition to DH of course, so long as the hospital allows people to be coming in an out though because I don't want ALL those people in at the same time lol. For delivery I'm thinking just DH.

I want an epi at the first sign of pain lol. Ideally, I would like to have a vaginal birth.

As far as who is in the delivery room, I would only want DH.

Re: Monday QOTD

Considering I already have a DC and went through child birth I want it to be pretty much the same just a little shorter. I had an all natural 32 hour v-birth 15 hrs at home 17 in the hospital I LOVED every minute of it! Good Luck ladies with your birth plans may they be what you want.

Re: Monday QOTD

I'd love to do a home birth actually. But if not, hopefully in a birthing center.

And on that note, want a V-birth and natural as possible.

Re: Monday QOTD

Well 2 of my friends had such FAST labors that they went meds-free (which is my ideal situation).
Everyone I know with kids said labor is painful, but its not as bad as they make it look in movies (or maybe they were just lucky?)

I'd love a natural childbirth, but truly, whatever happens, happens. As long as baby and I are healthy during and after labor I am fine with whatever has to happen.

ALthough I am praying to the man above that while in labor I don't need an episiodomy (did I spell that right?)-which is the *snip snip* to get baby out. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

ETA: As for who's with me, I want our families there, but once I get fully dialated I just want it to be me and DH. I don't want an audience while I'm pushing!

Re: Monday QOTD

I hope to have a Vaginal birth but I have a very strong feeling that I will end up with a C-Section.

As for natural vs. meds...bring on the meds!!!

In the L&D room I would like to have my DH and my sister but once delivery is about to happen I would only like my DH to be in the room with me.

Ditto to this, but I have a bad back so I think my reality will likely be a c-section.

I know that my mom and MIL will probably be insulted, but I really don't think I want anyone other than DH in the room with me. He's the only one who can truly calm me down. Mom and MIL will probably make me stressed out!

Re: Monday QOTD

I would have loved to do a natural water birth...but the thought sitting in my own blood clot / placenta floaties is really beginning to gross me out. I'd like V birth...and to be honest I'm thinking epidural...I don't want to be miserable & whiney
