Moms with one Child - where do you find play dates?

I have a 21 month old son. My friends children are older and my DS needs some friends. :)

Where can I find groups in my area?
Is there a group on here?

It's cloudy and rainy out today and I'm trying to figure out what we should do today :( I can't stand being stuck in the house all day!

I met a lot of moms at the local park or library groups. My son also does gymnastics and farm classes. Our town has a mother's association, so I've met people through that. I work, so most of the people I've met lately have been from other people. DS is also starting nursery school in January, so we'll meet more that way. Truthfully, I'm not Mrs. Outgoing, but my son is and has forced me to meet lots of people LOL.

ETA: Today we will probably go to Safari Adventure or Library.

I have 2 kids now, but, when DS was younger we did:

1. Barnes & Noble story time (met quite a few people there)

2. Library programs

3. Park.

Library classes. I've gone since DD was 4 months and several moms that I meet up with. I find the smaller classes that have small age ranges best for that. I'll always pick a class just for 1 year olds over one that takes 0-3 year olds. Our library also has a moms of toddlers discussion group which is great too.

Thanks. I am at the park a lot but, there is usually a click of moms that hang out together and their children are older than my son.

I wanted to try the story time but, he doesn't sit still for more than a couple of minutes, lol.

I'm defininetly going to check out the library tomorrow.

Which town are you in? A mothers association sounds good.

I met a few moms through Little Gym classes and we started having playdates outside of class too.
