Moms who work Full Time...

How many hours a day do you get to see your child/ren?

Cailen wakes up early, so although exhausted, I have him all morning, but most of the morning is devoted to getting ready. I probably see him for a total of 3 hours in the morning, from waking up to dropping off at daycare...

And then pick up to bedtime, maybe 2-2.5 hours total - and that is only if I don't go to workout for one of those hours Chat Icon

I guess it's not so bad - a total of about 4-5 hours a day, and then all day weekends.

However, I may be getting a part time job as well, which would take up 2 evenings a week, and 6 hours on Saturday (I am interviewing next week Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon that the jobs are good and they pay well!!!!)

So if it works out, although it would mean extra money, it would mean 2 evenings of not seeing Cailen AT ALL. So that would mean I would see him 3 hours on those days. Saturday I'm ok with - the hours would be 7AM-1PM, which gives me some morning time before I leave, and plenty of afternoon time. And then Sundays, which usually I'll be around all day for, but I may be doing an hour here or there for another job....

Ugh... It makes me so sad. Now that he's at an age where we spend this time together and we have certain routines together, I am really going to miss him, and he is going to miss me. Our evenings together mean the world to me... Chat Icon But at this point, most of you know, another job for me is something I cannot pass up at this point, and it's something I used to really enjoy doing (fitness instruction)

Anyone else see less and less of their child?Chat Icon

Re: Moms who work Full Time...

It depends...DH and I work at the same place. M-W he drops her off in the mornings and I drive my own car to work. On those days I get to see her about 2 hours.

Thurs and Fri we drive in together and I see for about an hour in the morning and then 3 hours at night (including the drive to my ILs)

1/2 hour in the morning (he wakes up at 8 and I leave at 8:30)

But we make up for it in the evening, I am home by 5:30 the latest and he stays up to 9:30-10:00pm.

About 3-4 hours a day total.

1-1 1/2 in the morning and usually around 2 in the evening. If she's cranky we put her to bed earlier.

I pick DD up at 4:30 and she goes to be around 7:30-8:00. Ideally she'd go to be at 7, but it's harder now that it's light longer. It's not ideal, but she gets my undivided attention for those three hours.

same here.

It's not even that I work more than an 8 hour day....my hours are 8:30 to 5 with a half hour commute each way. He wakes at 7 and goes to sleep at 8.

Re: Moms who work Full Time...

It varies every day.......

I start work anywhere from 7am - 9am and DS wakes anywhere from 6-6:30am on average. So some mornings are no time and some mornings we get like 2 - 2 1/2 hours

If I get out on time (5PM) & pick him up at 5:30PM I get about 2 1/2-3 hours at night. DS goes to sleep between 8-8:30PM. If I get out late, then it is no time

I don't see DD at all in the morning. I leave before she is up.

I pick her up from daycare at 450pm and she goes to bed around 745pm. So I see her for about 3 hours a day during the week.

On the weekends I spend every minute with her. Chat Icon

Re: Moms who work Full Time...

I'm the crappy mom - 1.5 hr in the a.m. MAYBE (depending on his wake time), and usually an hour at night.

But I spend every wake second with him on weekends.
