Moms of 18+ month olds - let's check in

I just wanted to check in to see how your little ones are doing!

Tyler, my little man, is a complete and absolute madman. He does not stop from the moment he opens his eyes. I turn around for one second and he's climbing on my kitchen table.

I think I need to find a gymnastics class for him to get some of his energy out.

He's starting to repeat everything we say, and says so many things which is amazing to me dealing with Jack who was speech delayed.

We got a new swingset for our yard and he climbed the rockwall in one shot. He has no fear (doesn't take after his mommy, that's for sure! )

He's a great eater (knock on wood) and will pretty much eat anything I put in front of him.

He's going to school in September at a 2 year old program - three days a week, and he needs it without a doubt. He is just so active.

He's up for the day at 6:30 - takes about an hour nap - and then goes to bed at about 6:30.

What are all of your kids up to? We should try to plan another Octobaby GTG once the weather really stays nice!

Colin - 18 months this weekend

Great eater as well but still has the stupid milk allergy. Going back in a couple of wks to see how that is doing. I do give him more dairy here and there now - not milk or straight up cheese, but I've given him a spoonful of mac or vodka sauce when he demands it and no reaction so hopefully it is nearly gone.

He's getting quite a demanding personality. He wants what he want NOW. It's really annoying to drive b/c he screams for the keys most of the ride

Trying to introduce him to being a big brother. I don't think he gets it. The other day he kissed my belly, and then bit it

He sticks up for himself more if Ryan tries to boss him around.

He's very loving. I love that he'll still let me rock him for a few minutes before bed with his head on my chest.
He is giggling most of the day. Very happy little monkey.

He's in daycare now and will be in a 2yr old playgroup in the fall. Not sure how I'll fill the rest of his time.

He sleeps 8:15-7:30 usually and naps one solid 2.5 hr, or two 1.5 depending on our day.

Jack just turned 18mo this weekend; like your DS up by 6:30 ready for bed by 6:30; he will stay up in his crib and chat away until after 7 and then he conks out.

Still on one nitetime baba which im going to drop this week.

Runs around like a nut, loves to be outside, says new words every week. His new thing is BUS..loves cars, trucks, buses going by.

eating...well, he could eat more fruits (other than in yogurt) and veggies so im working on that. but i cant complain..he's been pretty good with eating and he eats all day long.

My little guy is 21 months and a total love muffin

He has lots of words. Loves playing with anything his sister is playing = lots of fighting over toys. Loves the swingset and climbing up the rock wall but when he gets to the top he insists on sitting there and not sliding down! He swings on the regular swing seat ( with no back) like his sister and refuses the toddler swing seat.

He LOVES loves loves dogs and will literally run down the beach when he sees one - woof woof woof woof

He used to be a great eater but now he is terrible - wont eat pasta with sauce so I mix vegetable broth with it and he eats it that way, eats cheese and yoghurt but it is hard to feed him. He is still BF in the evening and during the night and would love to BF during the day but I distract him as I am trying to wean him.

He truly is very lovable and even when he throws a tantrum its cute.

My beautiful boy is growing up before my very eyes!

He was 34 inches and 30 lbs last month. Keeps just growing and growing. He suddenly got a bunch of teeth in after being a slow teether.

He's walks, runs, climbs and is trying to jump.

He has only 5 consistent words plus 2 that he has said afew times but not often. This I'm worried about. Had a speech eval that I wasn't happy with but was told he qualifies for speech. He understands everything though and I'm always amazed when I say something and he does it.

He's still a great sleeper although he's only giving me 10-11 hours a night plus 1 nap. He's a fantastic eater who refuses nothing and can easily eat anywhere. He LOVES going out which I don't do enough. He's an easy going toddler who is always happy. We went on vacation with him and it was like a dream. Slept STTN even there and woke up at 8AM every day and charmed our hosts who invited us back.

Al in all, I am so incredibly in love with my son. The 6 months I've been a SAHM with him have been amazing. Some mornings he'll lay on my bed and I'll lay next to him and that look in his eyes as he looks into mine is priceless. At that moment I can't imagine loving him more.

And I'd love to put him in school asap, I think he'd love it, just need to find a place.

ETA that he decided 2 days ago that he was done with his paci. Doesn't need it anymore. He pushes it through the crib rails. Bittersweet.

Seamus just turned 18 months - he is a whopping 27lbs. Colin wasn't that heavy at 2.

He is into everything and has no fear. He knows what he wants and tries to make sure he gets it. He loves to play with whatever his big brother is playing with. He is pretty strong and gets what he wants usually.

He isn't talking yet though. Finally sleeping a little better some nights he will sleep through and others he will get a bottle. Hopefully this will end soon.

Eating is hit or miss he loves his potatoes and pasta and pancakes. He gets very excited for fruit - not to much into the veggies.

It is amazing how quickly they grow.

He is my cuddly man loves snuggles and hugs.

My ds is 19 months

he loves to run and trying to climb up on things but luckly he is very cautious so he does not climb up on things he is not supposed to yet - he can go down stairs but knows to ask for help before giung down - so i don't even bother closing the gate to the stairs

he loves our dog and climbs all over him - loves to feed him and give him toys - but loves all toys

wants to be outside all the time and could care less how cold it is outside or if it is raining -

he loves to go places and does not like people to leave him

he has about 10-12 words but probably about 5 e says all the time- he is defiently workingon his ponucation because he will say similar words and play with mouth - like owl and ut oh - he is great at following directions

he sleeps great usally 11-12 hours and takes and hour to two nap each day

he lvoes to read and loves lookign at books by himself

he is such a sweety and so easy to have around

DD turned 18 mos last weekend.

She is so much fun at this age! She is talking up a storm and repeating so much (gotta really watch what we say now ). She's a great eater (thankfully).

She loves her books and wants you to read them to her over and over and over again

She is still very shy around new people and places. Takes one nap a day now and sleeps great at night.

We recently signed up for a Mommy & Me class and so far she really likes it. She's also a climber . DH just put one gate up at the top of the stairs. Will be putting the other one at the bottom next.

And we are taking our first family vacation in June. Can't wait

DD is 20 months and just the cutest, ridiculously happy, fun, social and chatty toddler ever! She's a non-stop talker... if I don't hear that little voice I know she's up to something (or pooping).

She has too many words to count, says a lot of two word phrases "hold this", "open this", "all done this", "what is that?", etc.. and tries to talk in sentences, it's pretty funny.

She started daycare yesterday and the transition was so easy. DH and I can't get over it, although we knew she was social and easygoing we never thought she would take to it this wonderfully since she's been with MIL since 11 weeks old and never in a school setting. It's only day 2 so I know things can change but she's loving daycare so far and the teachers say she's doing so well.

She likes to get her 12 hours of sleep so when we don't have to wake her up on the wknds she sleeps in til 8:30/9am. She takes one 2-hour nap a day, was fighting it for a while with MIL but seemed to be just a phase.

She's a pretty picky eater but i'm noticing now that she's getting a little older she'll try more healthy things and is eating a lot more than usual. But she just loves her pasta still (like her mama!).

She loves her books.
Still loves Toy Story.
LOVES to be outside, she'd stay outside all day if we let her.

Justin is 20 months. He's saying new words every day. He loves his flash cards too.

He loves running and loves to play hide-n-seek. He cracks up when we can't "find" him. I'm trying to teach him to say "Here I Am", but no luck with that yet.

He likes being outside, and likes to point to airplanes.

He still naps for 2 hours a day, but he's fighting being put down. He's tired, and he needs to sleep, he just doesn't want to.

Bedtime at night is usually good, since we have a set routine. When he's not sick, he sleeps through the night.

We're trying to brush his teeth daily. That's a struggle. He doesn't like the taste of any toothpaste.

Chloe is now 20 months....and what a difference I have seen since 17/18 months
Eating:
she is still a great eater, but had a rough patch around the 18 month mark that lasted about 1-2 weeks, teething related I think.
Talking:
Repeats the alphabet, and everyday seems to be adding more words her vocabulary.
Playing:
Loves puzzles, feeding babydolls, her kitchen, dress up, closing ALL open doors!
Sleeping:
Naps 2-3 hours everyday
and sleeps all through the night from 8pm - 7am
School:
I have enrolled her for a 2yr program in the fall - 2 hours, 2 times a week

Becoming a little defiant, totally knows the word and head nod for NO! and starting to test her boundaries.
trying to drop the pacifier, we are down to only nap time, but so far no good......

DD is 18 months. She is running, climbing and a lot of fun. She says new words every day. She likes to draw. She loves to play and read. She is taking swim lesions and music class. She loves to sing. She still needs a nap, but we don't always get them. She is very cuddly and lovey.

the twins will be 18mths 1 1/2 weeks! times going way too fast!

they are crazy! DS climbs on everything....kitchen table, in the bay window, standing on the changing table, scales the highchair. you name it. i am so not used to it, my older DS was way cautious!!! DD is starting to get more adventurous and I found her on top of the changing table this morning.

they are happy kids. love to play, laugh and of course steal stuff from each other and their older brother. i think it is their mission in life.

DS is a great eater....eats everything i put in front of him! DD is soooooo picky. all she wants to eat is fruit. they are peanuts.....DS is 21 1/2 lbs and DD is just 19lbs.

they are all of a sudden starting to repeat a lot more and talking more. they have their own language but understand each other! LOL

Olivia is 19 months and we LOVE this age :)

She is talking a lot and putting a lot of words together for sentences. Her favorite right now is "bye bye- see you 'morrow (tomorrow)" lol. And every animal she sees she says "big huggies" not that any of them want to give her hugs. She also loves to put on new shoes, hair bows, etc... and "show dada".

She loves playing with figures- little people, small animal toys, dollhouse figures, etc. Loves to color with markers, loves trains, obsessed with animals and playing outside and "cooking" things for us. She also has no tolerance for cold- will hold ice to eat and not feel pain and this weekend put her feet in the ocean (in MA) and wouldn't get out!!

She has strong preferences for things- loves lady gaga, zip up sweatshirts and absolutely has a tantrum if we don't give them to her. She's experienced quite a few time outs recently.

She is a great eater- not picky and loves veggies. However, usually eats only 2 regular size meals a day and 1 small meal/snack.

Looking forward to the summer, pool, beach...

Kenny just turned 18 months and is the love of my life! He's very active too - but not that into climbing or getting into trouble. He's more of a let me pull this pillow off the couch and jump on it on the floor kind of kid. BUT he LOVES to walk around the block and check out each house, the dogs barking from each window, and pick dandelions.

Kenny is a great eater too, but prefers cubed chicken over shredded, sweet potato fries instead of mashed, and is very finicky with anything mushy... He also loves to eat yogurt on his own with a spoon.

As far as words go, he's starting to talk more and more. Nothing sounds like it should, but I know that will come in time. This is such a fun age!

Sydney and Chloe will be 19 months next week.

They are out of control

I literally dont sit still very often.

They climb ( a lot like Tyler it sounds)..EVERYTHING. They stand in the window frames, scale the side of the entertainment center, their dresser, the cribs, you name it.

We have 4000 toys and they fight over the one..ALL day long.

Sydney loves to Run and loves our new Step 2 slide, and climbing anything. She is smart as a whip ( maybe smarter then ME) and a TOTAL drama queen, she makes faces for the camera, plays all these 'roles' and I seriously think about putting her in acting! She talks a lot now, not as much as Chloe but she is demanding, and has temper tantrums liek I have NEVER seen, full on throwing herself kicking and screaming on the floor. But oh man, her smile...wraps you right around her finger

Chloe is my chatterbox, she just had a word explosion and probably has 40 or more words and a small amount of two word combos now like bye bye mama, juice now She is OBSESSED with Thomas the train, shes a big TV watcher but she flips a lid over Thomas. When it goes off she will get hysterical and say Uh OH, Choo choo go bye bye OVER AND OVER again. LOL She is a dress up girl, loves loves to wear thirteen outfits at ONCE. She loves going outside and the swing, she would live in the swing. She also is obsessed with little people and lines them all up all over the house.

They will both eat anything and everything. They eat more then ME. Chloe loves meats and Sydney loves veggies. Since DS was and is a non eater, this I LOVE and I love watching them clean their plates.

This is truly a remarkable stage, and while it is WEARING me out bigtime with two ( and DS) I could sit and watch them for hours, they are simply amazing to me!

DS just turned 18 months on Easter. He is 31 inches and weighs 23 lbs 11oz. Still trying to catch up after a nasty stomach bug 6 weeks ago. He is finally on all milk and still has an allergy to some soy products. It is hit or miss with what is going to bother him. He is the pickiest eater. He isn't talking much (5 words). Babbles up a storm....
He loves to run and play outside. He is into everything. Climbing and jumping...He is non-stop all day long. He naps anywhere from 1.5-3 hours a day. (1 nap) He is usually in bed by 8-9pm and sleeps 10-11 hours.. He loves his firetrucks and cars...

JJ is 19.5 months old & a definate daredevil. He has such a fun personality but definately defiant in many ways. He is active from the moment he wakes up until he goes to bed.

He loves to be outdoors playing in the backyard & just simply running. He loves to throw & catch the ball along with kicking it. Just over the weekend he learned how to climb his way up our retaining wall in our yard & pick weeds. I guess that will come in handy this summer While indoors, he loves to chase his brother in the walker, play ball or climb on the couch. He has mastered the up & down of the steps & has also learned to climb behind the couch on occassion.

He is a good eater when it is something he likes. He really only eats breakfast & dinner but snacks a ton during the day on fruit. He will take a piece of fruit over a candy bar anyday & loves his veggies. His all time favorite things now are bagels, string cheese, apples, bluberries, grapes, bananas, oranges, watermelon, string beans, carrots & peas

In terms of talking, he comes up with new words daily & some don't sound as they should but he definatley makes you undestand that is what he wants. He loves to do his flash cards & sometimes acts silly when he knows what something is but tells you differently. He still babbles a lot more then his actual words but I know in time he will come around. He loves to walk around & say "Uh-oh"

Adriana is 18.5 months old. She amazes us everyday with how quickly she picks things up. She repeats everything we say, and is really trying to speak in subject-verb structures and uses possessives regularly. She's such a girly-girl. She loves playing dress-up and brushing her hair.
She's prone to throw quite a few tantrums when things don't go her way (we battled a couple today). She goes to Gymboree and sings the songs for hours afterwards. Her new favorite place is the beach (which she asks to go to several times a day).
She's always been a good eater, and still continues to be. We've had to trick her a few times into eating leafy greens, but pasta she'll down with no problems!
I fear we've reached the end of naptime, as she puts up a viscous fight regardless of how obviously tired she is.

Oh, and tonight she did peepee on the potty for the first time!

She is wonderful and this is my favorite stage!

Luce, 18 months last week.

he is such a crazy little man. running around everywhere....climbing up and down the stairs at every opportunity jumping dancing. he doesn't have a pause button.

right now he goes down between 7:30 and 8 and is usually up between 6 and 6:30. thank goodness for my MIL, he'll still take a solid 2-3 hour nap during the day.

he is totally feeling his oats right now. testing boundaries and his limits.

his is talking so much more now. repeating EVERYTHING. his favorite words are dada, GO, and of course, bola.

he LOVES being outside. he is a maniac for it. he is constantly telling us "GO" and leading us right up to the front door. and it sucks b/c he just doesn't get out as much as he should.

we are in the midst of deciding if we are going to do a major life overhaul, so the school is undecided yet but he will be in some sort of school come september. he needs it for sure.

his sleeping has gotten better but he's got a cold now so the last few nights have been brutal. but generally speaking his night wakings have dropped dramatically...to about 2 per night with a pretty long stretch before the first wake up. I'll take it.

eating is (knock on wood) still going pretty good. I have been able to get him to eat some greens again in certain foods without a problem and he is the consumate carnivore. he is a big fan of ham in particular.

my next mission is to completely wean him from the breast (he is still night nursing) and getting him to sleep in a toddler bed. for us

we'd love to do another octobaby gtg.

DS will be 19 months next week. He sleeps 8-7 and takes at least a 1 1/2 hour nap everyday. He likes typical boy things - trucks, balls and dirt. He doesn't stack blocks, instead he knocks them down. He LOVES being outside and digging in the dirt. Luckily he likes baths too and especially likes it when I blow "bubbas" - bubbles.
I got him a potty about a month ago because he seemed interested. Last night he took off his diaper and sat on the potty and read his book about potty training. I don't anticipate him getting the hang of this anytime soon but he loves doing this after his bath.
He loves helping me cook. If i don't pick him up and show him what I'm doing he gets into trouble so I try to incorporate what ever I'm doing with him. He also loves using the Swifter.

Derek will be 20 months on May 7th! I cannot believe it Second one definitely goes faster than the first.

Derek was not a great sleeper his first 15 months of life but is now. He sleeps about 12 hours a night plus he naps 2-3 hours a day.

He LOVES meat We call him a dinosaur. He'll eat meat all day every day (sausages, hot dogs, meatballs, pork, chicken). Totally opposite of his brother who is a carb fanatic. I feel like a short order cook most days.

He is saying more and more words every day AND repeats (even some things he shouldnt . I may still get him evaluated for speech but am giving it some more time. He had horrible ear infections and fluid issues as a baby and had tubes put in but his ear did not fully clear up until about 15 months when he passed his hearing test finally after failing twice

He LOVES this big brother. I love how they have grown to be BFF's although I play referee alot these days and it's mostly Derek busting TJ chops. Derek will hit him, wrestle with him, take his toys, climb on him. It really is cute but poor TJ gets annoyed after awhile but he is so good with his baby brother

Derek and I currently are in a Mommy & Me class once a week but in the summer he will be going to a 2 day summer camp for 2 hours and than in September he will be in a 2 yr. old preschool program. I'm a little nervous since he'll be on the young end just turning 2 as school starts but I think he'll enjoy it. I know the teachers well as TJ went to the same program and loved it!

He loves being outside, running, kicking the balls, being pushed on the swing, riding around on ride-on toys, climbing on everything. Typical boy!

AnnaSophia is 19 months & is still is such a BABY!!! I love it!!! My others were so quick to grow up. Amelia was in panties and 100% pottied trained and dressing herself head to toe before she was 20 months. I had nothing to do with it. She wanted it that way.

AnnaSophia could not be more of the opposite. She doesn't talk and is still very dependent. She still takes a bottle and has a little lovey! I love it and I am milking it for as long as I can.

She is amazing and such a breath of fresh air. She has such pretty eyes and she looks like a little pixie.

They are all my favorites but there's something about her...I just want to keep her this small forever!!!

Anthony will be 18 mths on May 1st.

He is into everything. This kid had NO FEAR! Climbs everything, destroys things if he doesn't get his way. He is very mechanical...he has to touch everything, especially things with buttons, and tries to take everything apart.

He eats basically everything except veggies, so I usually hide extra veggies in sauces and beef stew. My DH is a crazy eater and shares everything with him. We haven't broken the bottle just yet but we are working on it.

He is a great sleeper at night usually 10-11hrs but during the day his naps range from 1 hr to 3 1/2 hrs.

He is definitely very attached to me so when I leave him he usually has a melt down. He's getting better though.

He will be getting a baby in August so hopefully he will warm up to the idea of Mommy holding another baby bc right now he tries to push his baby cousin out of my arms. Hoping to put him in preschool in September depending on how the separation anxiety pans out.
