Moms- do you use your camcorders?

Sorry to barge in on your board, but Dh and I are debating on getting a camcorder for when the baby comes. He doesnt think we'll use it that much.

Do you use yours and if so, which one do you have?

Yes, I used it a lot in the beginning. I have to get some more CDs. I love watching how little she was.

I'm not sure which one we have. I'll have to check that out.

I think I have a Sony Handycam model and yes I use it all of the time. I would rec getting one.

We got one when DS was born and sad to say I don't use it much :( I wish I did but I use my camera all the time and take short videos on that..
I keep kicking myself to use it more and somehow never do

I wish we used it more, but I have my camera out faster than the camcorder.

We used our digital camera in the beginning and then I HAD to get a camcorder - but have only used it once since july feel so bad as I insisted we needed one....will try to use more...bad mommy..

I have a lot of family in Fla so its nice to make them movies..

We use it every so often. I used it a few weeks ago to surreptitiously tape Joseph's dancing performance of Rubberband Man.

Now if I could only get it on youtube.com

eta. We have an old Panasonic. If you want I can check out Consumer Reports for you.

No way. You shouldn't get it yourself. I already pay for it. I'll look it up in a few minutes, have to put groceries away.

We don't own one. And have no plans to get one either. WE are more than satisified with the millions of digital pictures we take.

yes we use it often..we have the Sony HDV handycam..its nice that its so small and lighweight..

I would use mine alot more- If I knew how to burn them onto to dvd- its so fustrating to rec'd them and never be able to watch it!

We have one but really don't use it very often. We have a ton of pics of the boys, but there's nothing like hearing their voice.

We have a Sony that's 5 years old (I got it for DH for his wedding gift). We're looking into getting a new one now.

I use mine all the time and have it in the living room for easy access. we have a panasonic. It's nice to have in addition to a camera. We set it up on the tripod and recorded her first bath - you can't do that with still shots. I think it's worth the money.

We got one when DS was born and used it alot in the beginning, took it everywhere we went. Then as he got more active I had less time to grab it except for special occasions.

Last week I went to use it with the intention of using it ALOT more and the dam n thing is broken! blank screen, says lens cap is on, I think its fried....

It was a 2 yo JVC DVC

DH bought me a Sony Handycam ages ago and we used it back then... Now we record more on our Sony camera...

We use ours a lot, mostly at home when she is doing something extra cute.

No to often. We used it a lot when Julia was first born, but we take more pic's now. We are going to start using it again around the holidays, when my sister and I were small my dad would always video tape us opening up our presents on christmas day each year, and I want to do the same for Julia.

WE've always had one, recently got a digital one. I cant fathom not having videos, its just totally different than pics. nothing replaces it. we use it as often as possible. if the kids are doing something goofy, we get it.
i think its a must have.
