MMR age question

i don't plan on giving it to her until she's 4, right before she goes into Pre-K. she got her chicken pox vaccine at 12 months and she broke out with the actual chicken pox. i'm glad i didn't give her the MMR at the same time since she had this reaction.

Re: MMR age question

He was supposed to have it at 15 months but he was sick and getting the flu shot that day so I delayed it because I felt like it was too much going on and the flu shot was time sensitive. He got it At 20 months I believe.

just check the spacing required between doses and time to admit to kindergarten.

New state law is they need 2 doses of MMR to enter K.

My Dd got the MMR at 15 months and they wanted to give the chicken pox at the same time. I separated them. She broke out in a measles like rash (was not actual measles) 8 days after the shot. Was not a big deal. When are they supposed to get the second shot? With all these outbreaks I'm getting nervous!

This is incorrect. This was the OLD law. The new law is that you only need One MMR for Kindergarten admission in New York

It's a non-issue anyway for anyone that delays honestly because proof of immunity satisfies the vaccine requirements anyway so she wouldn't have had to had two mmrs even under the old law.

MMR age question

With my older DS we waited until his 3 yr old well visit. But my younger DS, who is 22 months, got it last month and the twins will probably get theirs at the recommended 12-15 months. Too many scary outbreaks going on.

I didn't realize it was two shots...does that mean my children are potentially at risk since they haven't gotten the second shot yet?

This scares the crap out of me, especially since the CDC is expecting a big outbreak of measles. It makes me angry in fact since it is preventable.

DS will get it when he is 12 months. I hate that he doesn't have it yet - especially with all the outbreak that is going on now...
