MMR-Age question
At what age did your drs office suggest giving the MMR shot (whether you got it at that point or not) Thanks!

my ped does it at 15 months. DD however, had coxsackie at her 15 month visit so she will actually be getting the shot at 16 months

I held off too....not sure till when though...does the recent "outbreak" of measles scare you?

My ped suggested 12 months. We decided to break it up - so DD only got the measles vaccine so far - we'll go back for the mumps and rubella over the next couple of months.

My ped said he was fine with any time b/w 12-18 mo - if I wanted to delay it after that, in his words - "we would have to talk"

18 months. BUT they left it up to me and were totally fine with me delaying it and breaking it up.
Gracie is 26 months and she JUST received the one part of the MMR, the measles shot, sing dose vial, thimerisol free. We are getting rubella next month and mumps the month after. Always single dose vials and I ask to look at the box it came in to make sure it is thimerisol free and not expired.
I know that my view on this is not popular and many may disagree with me. I felt it was the BEST thing for me to do for MY DD and that is that.

I will be holding out for as long as I can...maybe til she's 2 or 3. I know my PED delays it for a long time.

15 mos is suggested, but they will break it up or delay it at the parent's request. They do indeed provide parent education for anyone who considers splitting or delaying, to make certain that the parents have all the available facts and research.
They do not recommend skipping it, but it is in the end a parent's choice and not the Drs.

I just went for my DD 12 month checkup yesterday and skipped this one shot. They were fine with that. I will delay it till 18 or 24 months, maybe break it up...not sure.
