Steve Harvey was the host and he announced that Miss Columbia was Miss Universe..she got the crown and everything..than he came back out and apologized he announced the wrong winner! Says Miss Philippines was actually the winner..so awful for these woman!!

Ok so I happen to catch the last ten or so minutes.
It's down to three girls - USA, Columbia, and Phillipines.
USA gets second runner up.
Steve Harvey is the host. He gets Columbia and Phillipines together and he's like first runner up will be crowned if miss universe can't fulfill, blah blah and drumroll......
Columbia!!
She's crying, she's crowned, the old miss universe comes out, she does a walk, she's waving. Time goes by...
Randomly Steve Harvey walks back out awkwardly.
He's like uhhhhh hang on just a sec... And everyone laughs Bc he's a jokester.
He's like ummm we said the wrong one. Miss Phillipines is actually the winner.
They pan to her and she's like FLOORED.
Columbia doesn't really speak English so she's just standing there in her crown like huh????
And the old miss universe who happens to also be from Columbia comes out and tells her!
Phillipines awkwardly comes over, someone takes the crown off Columbia's head!!! And Steve Harvey is like sorry it's my fault.  and then they just kind of went to commercial.

When he announced the correct winner, the runner up should've taken the crown off her head and handed it over. It was very weird to watch! But I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the whole thing was staged just for ratings.

i just watched the clip this morning. OMG I can't. I feel bad for everyone. bUTTTTTTT.... they let ms Columbia sit there with the crown, crying, waving for a few minutes. Someone should have ran out immediately and corrected it.
Guess Steve Harvey won't be doing many more host jobs lol

I am not positive but I think it is Bc she speaks very little English. She needed a translator to answer her question during the finals. And it appears once the former miss universe came out, who also happens to be Colombian, I saw her whispering in her ear and then it was like she "got it" and the crown was handed over. Crazy!!!

I'm from Colombia and I think this was the most ridiculous thing. I usually don't watch Miss Universe, but I remembered it was on last night and kept watching because Miss Colombia was still there. I always thought Miss Philippines was going to win and was very happy when Colombia did. It is just so wrong what they did. I don't know, he was able to read the 15, 10, 5, 3 finalists and then suddenly makes this huge mistake when reading the winner? I feel bad for Miss Colombia, because even though it wasn't her mistake, it was a humiliating moment.
I think she speaks more English than what people think. I can understand needing a translator because it must be nerve-racking to be there, in cameras, on stage and under pressure of time answering a question. By the way, the translator was awful, and she didn't let Miss Colombia to finish complete sentences, and didn't translate everything what Miss Colombia said.

Did he get confused because he was supposed to announce the runner up and Miss Columbia WAS the runner up so he announced her name?
I didn't see it...so I'm wondering
like they normally go into the whole thing about how the runner up will take the crown should the winner not be able to fulfill her duties etc.
Then they announce the runner up- right?

Like, he came out and announced the SECOND RUNNER UP who was the blond, from Oklahoma, who was Miss USA. So she scurries off to the side.
Then it's Colombia (and it is COLOMBIA not COLUMBIA -- I wrote it wrong in my posts above because it was late last night and I was typing fast on my iphone -- then I realized, oh shoot it is not District of Columbia, Columbia... it is COLOMBIA as in the Country, so I apologize but it was so late and I was half asleep).... So fine, it is COLOMBIA (who is gorgeous) and the Philippines (who is gorgeous) and Steve was like "if Miss Universe for whatever reasons cannot fulfill her duties, then the first runner up will take over"... blah blah "and Miss Universe 2015 is... Miss COLOMBIA!" And everyone goes wild.
Turns out, apparently, he read the card wrong which gave the FIRST RUNNER UP and WINNER. I guess he read the FIRST RUNNER UP (COLOMBIA) *AS* the winner and then when he exited the stage someone must have been like UMM no.
So then he came back out, he even showed the card and the way they printed it was A LITTLE confusing, I guess, I mean, I guess I'll give him that  And whatever - he's like I take full responsibility, it's not their fault. And then he kind of stood there and it was just extremely awkward.
Former Miss Universe basically spoke to Colombia and then took the crown and crowned Philippines who was verrrrry reluctant to come up and basically "dethrone" Colombia.
 A mess!

Agreed! I am also Colombian and watched the actual event and was appalled at what transpired. I wish Ms. Colombia had won, because she really is a stunner compared to Ms. Philippines. I hope Steve Harvey gets fired too. Clearly he had no experience reading from a call card when its a live show.
