mind if I join you?
newbie here. After 8 mnths of trying, we're pregnant. (Wow, I still can't believe it!) Anyway, DH and I are over the moon about it. We haven't told anyone IRL, as we're waiting for the 1st doc. appt. (this monday).
What can I expect at the first appt?
Anyway I look forward to chatting with you ladies.

How many weeks will you be at the first appt. Mon?
I saw my dr. at 7w and a few days. They did blood and an internal sono.

my first appt. was very long, we were asked a TON of questions, given a pap, had 8 vials of blood taken and had a sono....

Congrats!! At my first appointment which was at 5w5d they did an internal sonogram and drew a lot of blood, then we sat down in the doctors office and he answered any q's we had.

Congrats to you and welcome! 
My first appt. was early too. I peed in a cup, and when I told my dr. that I spotted one day about a week after conception, he did an internal and we saw the sac and heartbeat! Then I came back for my 8 week with DH and they asked some medical history questions, did another internal, baby grew and DH saw heartbeat. My office does not take blood so I went to a local lab for the viles and viles of blood! And she said she ran the short panel on me! Then I go in once a month.
Keep in mind that not all drs. do sonos right away.

Welcome and congrats!!!! My first appointment was when I was 5 weeks 3 days. They did an internal sonogram and though it was too early to see a heart beat we saw a yolk sac.

Congrats!! My first appt. I was only 4 weeks. They did a pap (but only because I was due for one) and gave me a prescription for prenatals, wrote a script for a bunch of blood work and answered any questions I had. I go back at 7 weeks for the first sono and to go over the bloodwork results.

 Welcome! Wishing you a happy and healthy 9 mnths!
All I can remember about my first visit is alot of blood being taken! Keep some candies and possibly a juice in your car...I was fiine..we left the office and the second the air hit me I got SO dizzy! I ate a small 3 muskateers LOL and like always it made everything ok!.....Enjoy seeing your bean for 1st tiime!
