Milk blisters, clogged duct, mastitis ?

I have a milk blister but my breast also feels very sore to the touch, so much so that if I even put the slightest bit of pressure on it, I am in pain. I don't feel a lump but there's a red spot on my areola and the side that hurts is very warm to the touch. Is this a clogged duct? Could it be the start of mastitis? It's only been 2 days, no fever or achiness, just pain.

Wanted to add that I've still been BF like normal (even though it feels like being cut with razor blades ) and have also been massaging that breast in the hot shower and pumping to try to get relief....no help.

I have never had a clogged duct but that definitely sounds like one. I would get in the shower and massage the breast under hot water! I hope you get some relief soon

Is what you have a friction blister or milk blister? Here is how you can tell the difference. kellymom.com

I had a clog, it got better and a few days later I had two more on the same breast. This is what finally worked for me. I went into the shower and inspected the nipple for any clogged pores. Clogged pores will typically have white spots on them. Take a very warm shower, massage the breast and self express a little milk. As you are expressing watch where the milk is coming from. The pores that have white dots and do not seem to be expelling milk most likely need to be cleared. I took a needle I sterilized and lighted poked the pore to break up the clog. I expressed a little more and after doing this a few times the clogged pores unplugged. I then massaged up from the red clogged area of the breast while expressing. It was like popping a blackhead I guess but do not squeeze it or do anything harsh. Be very gentle in anything you do, you do not want to make it worse.

That's what my clogged duct felt like. I have no idea what mastitis feels like as I was lucky enough to not get it.

My midwife had me try this.

Fill a big bowl with the hottest water you can stand. Put it on your table and lean over it, placing your boob in the water. Then massage down and express milk out. The hot water, and gravity seem to help.
