Clogged Milk Duct

I think I have a clogged milk duct. I have been applying moist heat, feeding frequently and massaging the breast but it doesn't seem to be getting better. My question is if I need to see a doctor about this who do I see. My ob or a regular internal medicine dr?

I feel your pain!! I had one and it was brutal! I was doing the hot compress too and then read somewhere that might make it worse...I ended up popping it with a sterile needle but would not recommend this as you could get infected - it worked for me but .....

What also worked and this may sound weird but if you nurse your baby on all fours...i.e get down on all fours on the bed or the floor and put your baby under you so you will be nursing straight down - the laws of gravity work in your favor and this worked wonders for me,...your poor baby will get a milk bath but it should work.

A reg doc should be all you need for this not an obgyn.

i had 2 clogged milk ducts my whole breastfeeding experience (i just stopped this morning- 11.5 months!!!)....i got them both in the beginning and what i did was lay in the bath tub, real warm, and take a lot of soap in my hand and massage it while i was laying there- worked both time- within hours i was fine again....

Every time it has happened to me the hot compress, massage frequent nursing has "popped" it for me. The first time it worked I was laughing so hard because I was just shooting milk everywhere
