Men just don't get it, do they?
So, I came home yesterday and raved and raved about my wonderful experience with Dr. Ruth, how I want to adopt her as my mom, and how I love that she's being so proactive.
So you know what DH says? He thinks she's being "too aggressive" and that we don't need to see a fertility specialist, all we need is to have someone prescribe to me the same progesterone pill I was taking when I got pregnant with Alex.
Um, hello dumbarse - first of all, we don't know 100% if it's progesterone, and god forbid it isn't, I don't want to spin my wheels for another 6 months thinking all is good because I'm on some stupid pill, when it really isn't.
Second of all, even IF the source of all my problems is low progesterone, don't you think it might be important to understand WHY I have low progesterone, and to determine whether it's in anyway related to my enlarged thyroid gland? There are OTHER health implications here too you know.
Ahhhh men
I really think it's about time for a female president (just had to throw that one in there )

I hear ya! For 2 years my DH said don't get all crazy listen to your Dr but I just KNEW there was something wrong. Well, when I finally got to the right Dr's there was!
As far as the thyroid-are your #;'s normal-I don't know a lot about it but I do know that if your levels are even slightly off it can affect getting and staying pregnant. Another tip, progesterone pills are not as easily absorbed as suppositories. You may want to ask for the vag. capsules and use them together. Good luck and

I don't know yet - all I know is that my doctor felt around my throat area and said that it was slightly enlarged and would run some tests on my blood to see if I have any thyroid issues.
The brutal truth here is that I saw an ear, nose and throat doctor about a year ago for a clogged ear, and he felt around my throat and said the same thing, and recommended that I get an ultrasound.
I followed up with my regular doctor who confirmed that it was slightly enlarged but didn't have any concerns. BUT, I got lazy, and never went to the lab to have my blood drawn so she never had a chance to determine if there were any hormonal implications.
I guess I'll wait to hear from my RE about the results of my bloodwork. I have a follow-up post-coital exam on Tuesday (how mortifying! ), so I'll follow-up with her then.
