If you do the cabbage soup diet, it's supposed to be the only thing you are eating. No offense, but I don't consider McDonald's eating better!

ROTFLMAO....I was just thinking to myself "if they call it the cabbage soup diet, how does southwest chicken salad fit into it?"although here i am eating chinese food.
Cabbage soup sounds difficult to eat on a continuous basis.

Re: Mcdonalds
because it's a salad i am eating and it's grilled chicken, i am not a cheeseburger or french fries... NO... They have added salad's parfait yougurt's for people who dont want the greasy foods. Yes maybe Mcdonald's is not a healthy place to eat, but i wanted to try the salad... and the cabbage soup diet i just started and i already lost 1 pound i weighed myself. but i understand what you are all saying!

are you eating the Newman's salad dressing with it- if you are, you are better off eating a quarter pounder, I'm not even kidding.

She is properly eating the Newman's since I think it's the only dressing they offer.
Just because it's a salad doesn't make it healthy. Trust me, I know.

Re: Mcdonalds
FYI - I just looked up the nutritional info - southwest salad with newman's dressing is 15 grams of fat and 440 calories - definitely better to eat a burger!
And that McFlurry thing - 600+ calories and 20 grams of fat!
People always think that salad at a fast food place is healthier than the other items, but that is properly not the case!

Re: Mcdonalds
The cabbage soup diet is so 1980's. It's not a healthy way to diet but then again neither is McD's.

Re: Mcdonalds
Here is the plan:
Day One: Fruit: Eat all of the fruit you want (except bananas). Eat only your soup and the fruit for the first day. For drinks- unsweetened teas, cranberry juice and water.
Day Two: Vegetables: Eat until you are stuffed will all fresh, raw or cooked vegetables of your choice. Try to eat leafy green vegetables and stay away from dry beans, peas and corn. Eat all the vegetables you want along with your soup. At dinner, reward yourself with a big baked potato with butter. Do not eat fruit today.
Day Three: Mix Days One and Two: Eat all the soup, fruits and vegetables you want. No Baked Potato.
Day Four: Bananas and Skim Milk: Eat as many as eight bananas and drink as many glasses of skim milk as you would like on this day, along with your soup. This day is supposed to lessen your desire for sweets.
Day Five: Beef And Tomatos: Ten to twenty ounces of beef and up to six fresh tomtoes. Drink at least 6 to 8 glasses of water this day to wash the uric acid from your body. Eat your soup at least once this day. You may eat broiled or baked chicken instead of beef (but absolutely no skin-on chicken). If you prefer, you can substitute broiled fish for the beef one one of the beef days (but not both).
Day Six: Beef and Vegetables: Eat to your heart's content of beef and vegetables this day. You can even have 2 or 3 steaks if you like, with leafy green vegetables. No Baked Potato. Eat your soup at least once.
Day Seven: Brown rice, unsweetened fruit juices and vegetables: Again stuff, stuff, stuff yourself. Be sure to eat your soup at least once this day.
You don't JUST eat cabbage soup.
Ro, do the best you can. Sometimes on holidays it is hard to stick to a diet plan, especially one as strict as the cabbage soup diet.
I see that you really could be eating better than usual depending on what you ate before . . . Just be leary of those fast food salads- they really add up in calories fast.
Good luck- tomorrow is another day- for this cabbage soup diet to be successful, you need to really follow it consecutively the way it is set up. Pick a time frame where you know you can accomplish each day successfully.

They don't have the Cobb salad listed for some reason - they have southwest, asian, and bacon ranch and caesar salad.

are you eating the Newman's salad dressing with it- if you are, you are better off eating a quarter pounder, I'm not even kidding. Nope I eat my salad's plain i dont put any dressing's on it unless its balsamic vinegar, but i cut all dressings out all together. Now my question for you and kate is How is chinese food any better than Mcdonlad's? because that has more 'fat' into it and their food has msg in it,plus i dont need all of that salt.. your right i rather eat a quarter pounder than.. . I am doing the cabbage soup diet but i will eat it either for Lunch OR i will eat it for Dinner, Not eat a salad and soup together that is too much! so I hope i answered your questions.
