Mama win! She likes this cough medicine

Hey I know its a small victory but in my house its HUGE! She hates every medicine but dutifully takes her Claritin and Benadryl daily. Generally with a glass of cold water as a chaser.

Well this cough she has is crazy. Normally I just give honey elixir but we figured we'd try something harder now that she's past that magical age of 6.

Well I'm still cautious since she doesn't weigh what an average 6yr old does. So we picked up triaminic children's stuff.. but also saw this other stuff.

I told her AJ this says its chocolate. Her eyes light up. Could it be?



It pours out thick as cold molasses and as dark as tar with a brown tinge. I'm faking how cool it is.. OMG look at that its like chocolate syrup! But I wasn't faking it really does SMELL like chocolate.

So I prepared the back up water just in case. We used the little spoon it came with and I dosed her as a 4-6yr old instead of a 6-12yr old. She licked the damned spoon.. seriously loved this stuff. Had a chocolate smear smile when she was done. She LICKED THE SPOON! MMmmnig the whole way. We had offered her the water so she knew it was there when she started to try it...but she waved us off. No chaser?

I know this is silly as heck but I was THRILLED!

It cut out the pain in her throat and loosened up her one stuffed nose side. No more coughing and complaining about her throat and she slept fine. It didn't conflict with Benadryl so we were able to give her that for the runny part. They do make it to cover that too but its stronger and 6 and up (night time).

So I figured I'd share.. Cough syrup she likes! CHOCOLATE!

Where did you buy this? I have one who will not take anything but Benadryl OTC & must be chewable. He started coughing last night after battling the sniffles
