m/s question
Hello Ladies,
I don't post much and am not pg yet but am dreading m/s. For those of you that have m/s do you get sick after you eat only or all day/night? Do you have a warning before you actually get sick?
I must sound like a psycho but I have a very bad phobia of throwing up :( :(
I am adding a poll to see how many actually have m/s.
Thanks and I hope all of you have a happy healthy pregnancy!!

Re: m/s question
I dont think anyone likes to throw up...
I have a constant feeling of nausea and then as soon as I go to the bathroom it just comes out....
At almost 13 weeks, I have gotten used to it....if it means the baby is healthy and growing....you really dont mind...

Re: m/s question
Actually, I think most people get m/s because they haven't eaten. Once you eat, even though you might not want to, you feel better.
I know that when I start feeling sick, to eat something, and that feeling goes away.

Re: m/s question
It definitely gets worse when your blood sugar levels are low.... forcing a few crackers down your throat definitely could take the edge off...
I didn't have m/s, but I did have serious food aversions.... everything smelled horrible, and I couldn't eat normal food.... I could only eat bland starch and fruit for about 10 days....

Re: m/s question
I had morning sickness morning, noon and night for six months. Whether I ate or didn't eat made no difference except that I either threw up food or dry heaved. Everyone is different. Hopefully you will be one of the lucky ones that doesn't get it!

Re: m/s question
Im sorry to have to tell you this, but for some people, like me, its constant morning noon and night sickness. No matter what I did I just couldnt stop being sick. I tried all the tricks, the crackers, the eating before I got out of bed, the small meals, nothing seemed to work. Sometimes it came with no warning at all, and I have thrown up on the carpet a few times because I didnt know it was coming...and at just about 28 weeks, I still throw up
The good news is that according to my doctor m/s means baby is healthy

Re: m/s question
I had M/s pretty bad, it started around week 6 and lasted till around 15. My M/S lasted all day and on some nights, and it included vomiting, mostly when my stomach was empty, or if i had something it didn't agree with. But some women don't get it at all.

Re: m/s question
I had m/s every morning for about 5 weeks...I never actually threw up, just dry heaved for a few minutes. One afternoon, I threw up from the sickness, but that was because I really didn't eat all day. Some people don't get it at all. And if you get it...you realize it's for a good reason!!

Same here. It's never gotten to the point where I actually vomited. With my first pregnancy I wasn't even queasy. You just never know.

Re: m/s question
I totally don't think you are psycho. Throwing up is one of my biggest fears in life. If I hear that someone around me has a stomach virus I turn into a paranoid freak- just waiting for it to hit me!
As far as morning sickness. I had it with both pregnancies- much worse this time. I never throw up, but I feel sea sick 24/7. Zofran helps a lot!!! If you need medication- take it- don't be afraid- it is a God send!
Good Luck!!

Re: m/s question
I have morning sickness morning, afternoon, and at night. I am 12 weeks and in the beginning it was really bad. My doctor gave me a prescription to help the constant nausea/vomitting.
If I ate or didnt eat didn't matter I was sick.
Now it's not so bad. I have figured out ways to beat the morning sickness system. Peppermint candies, water melon candies, ginger ale, lemonade, saltines with peanut butter, and peanut butter and jelly have all helped me control the nausea.

Re: m/s question
Thanks girls. Your input helps!! I hope to dear God that I don't have it. I'm not even pg and I am paranoid about this. I feel like I am thinking about it nonstop. I have to stop watching A Baby Story and all those shows, I'm driving myself nuts.

YESSSSSS! Step away from those shows. They will drive you nuts. I had watched a baby story, life in the ER and all those baby related shows and they will drive you insane. Step as far away from those shows as possible.

Re: m/s question
I got M/S on cue at 6 weeks. That week at my first OB appointment I got Zofran which (for me- and it doesn't work for everyone) was my MIRACLE drug.
I tried to go off the Zofran at 12 weeks, 18 weeks and 24 weeks- all three attempts resulted in me immediately getting sick all day until I took the pill. My OB said it's nothing to be concerned about- I'm just meant to be a "thrower upper" . So Zofran and I will be heading to the delivery room together.

Re: m/s question
I've only thrown up once (so far...) and that was right after I woke up.
I just get some queeziness throughout the day..and whenever I feel sick I'll just eat something or suck on a mint.

I wish! lol
When I was preggo with DD, I was in the bathroom from 6am-11pm, it was horrible!!! that lasted for like 2 months!
This pregnancy was a little better, I didn't get sick, but I was nausaus for like 3 weeks, and nothing helped me!

You get used to it, lol
At 16 weeks, I still throw up every now and then. I can usually tell before it happens so I do get a chance to get to the bathroom.

Re: m/s question
I am nauseus the entire day but worse in the morning. I have not thrown up but have dry heaved. It's always worse on an empty stomach so I force a bowl of cereal down my throat in the morning to help.
