NEW lump in breast shortly after giving birth?

I had my 3rd dd in july...in sept i found a lump on my left breast which was bothering me. I was also still leaking even though i didn't breast feed this time.. so i went to my ob who said the leaking was ok..sometimes it takes up to 3 months to stop but said have an ultrasound. i did and it came back ok. A few weeks later i was still getting pain so i went to a breast surgeon, who did an an exam..took a look at the ultraound pics and said he thought it was just a clogged duct.. and said i also had one on my right breast and to give it another month or 2 and it should go away. So come november, i still feel it go back to the breast surgeon who said lets have another ultrasound but he thinks its nothing, probably just hormones and to give it time. My ultraound with him came back fine too.

I don't know why but i'm still so nervous! I feel this lump and its making me crazy. What should i do? wait a few months and go back? go to another breast surgeon? I'm not sure but im getting really upset over this. ugh

I wouldn't go to the same breast surgeon. Go to someone new and put some urgency into it so you're seen sooner than later. Different doctors can sometimes give you insight into a scenario you didn't think of before. My SisterInLaw just went through the same thing! It was a benign lump but it was removed. her second opinion is the one who caught it.

I would a second opinion but wanted to share that both times after I gave birth I ended up almost getting mastitis and was in a lot of pain, both times I did not breastfeed but I guess somehow was getting stimulated to make milk, i think in the shower. I had painful lumps going up to my armpits and also was leaking for quite some time. My ob gave me antibiotics and over time it went back down. So I wanted to share that story just in case the lumps are from that but def get a second opinion just in case.

If it hurts, it is VERY unlikely to be cancerous.

I had one, it did end up being mastitis.
