Look who I saw today:
Ed-lie or Les-ward:
We had the Ultrascreen/New-A today. The lil one was moving around all over the place and trying to suck its thumb. Legs and arms were flailing away. DH says its a "kicker" and is ready to sign Ed-lie or Les-ward up for pee-wee football already.
Basically, everything "looked" good according to the sonogram and the perinatologist, but my regular OB likes a full comprehensive picture which includes the blood work I had today, blood work I will have in 2 weeks combined with the sonograms. The nurse that was in with us was spewing all sort of info about risk factors and false positives and to be honest, all I heard was Charlie Brown's teacher saying "WAAH WA WAHHH WAAAAAH."
It was really nice to have this moment with DH and have it be a good one. I think he was in awe of the movements the baby was making. He was also able to listen to the nurse and decipher the clinical jargon as I was focused on the screen.
We scheduled an amniocentesis regardless of what the Ultrascreen tells us. I have been wavering back and forth about the decision - not the risks of the procedure, but the possible outcomes. However, deep down in my heart, I know that an amnio is the best choice for us.
