If it doesn't bother you, I say go for it. Whose to say that the place will still be around when you want to sell?

That funeral home is probably zoned as commercial property. So if they close shop... you will end up with some other business there most likely.

personally, I would not buy a house next or even near a funeral home, I am a complete whimp when it comes to spirits and ghosts...
last week a woman was killed by the train at my station (Bethpage), for the past few days I've been having this eerie feeling.. and I am don't even live too close the train station....

My mom's house is right next to a cemetary. It's actually really nice and quiet. I think that if you fell in love with the house, than if you ever go to sell it, someone else will fall in love with it too. It's beautiful, I say go for it.

It would be an issue for me if the funeral home didn't have sufficient parking.

Also, we like to have parties and bbq's and it would depend how the yard was situated. If it would be in view of mourners I'd probably not want the house.

However that is a stunning house and I can see your dilemma. Maybe try to talk to neighbors and ask about parking/traffic...

Living next to is still preferable to living above or in a funeral home, I guess.

I have to say hell to the no I couldn't do that one.

I had problems sitting in an office all day that faced a funeral home.

I couldn't do it being next door to a funeral home - I'd have the willies all the time. If you are happy with it and your family will still come visit you, then buy it. It seems to be everything you want in your home
