LIRR UGH! Shuttith People!!!
This morning these 6 people have a loud conversation and were yucking it up through the whole ride.
As if there was no one else on the train. This was an early rush hour train. Nobody, I mean nobody else was making a sound.
Ruined a perfectly good nap.
I glared at them a lot they didn't care.
It was happy hour at 7:30am.

I jumped on when the doors were closing and the train was empty. Then they got on. I thought I would move but I waited it out and was sorry I did.
I usually sit in another car that's very quiet and restful..ah...
I was dying to say, now the whole car knows how your friend screwed you.

We have freakin group that plays cards on the way home....so annoying!
Oh and we alway seem to have the extremely loud cell phone talker on our AM train...shut uppppppp!

The train line I am on (for only 2 more days, thank god) is notorious for these train friends. THEY NEVER SHUT UP!
I take th 6:50 train and they are talking, laughing, and NOT being quiet about it. I can't stand it.
Maybe I'm just not a morning person -- but even if I were... I can hold a conversation on the train without sharing it with the ENTIRE car. Why can't they?!

I live in Central Florida, there isn't really any public transportation (unless you count the disney monorail  ) Please explain the problem to me. You are in a public place why should people be catering to you sleeping?

They shouldn't at all... but if you were sitting at a restaurant and someone next to you was basically screaming so loud that the ENTIRE restaurant could hear his conversation, that wouldn't annoy you at all?
I think it would annoy most people. It sure as heck annoys me.

Deb, it's not even a matter of people sleeping. It's a matter of people have no concept of the term or use of their inside voice.
I use my iPod everyday, but how loud exactly am I supposed to make it to drown out the voices of the unwanted? It is rudeness pure and simple of people like this.
If they were the first ones on the train and were loud, it would be different IMO. To get on a quiet train and start loud talking, just rude.

Some people think that the PUBLIC of public transportation means they get to dictate how others spend thier communting time!!
I have been communting for 20 years (I cant beleive I admitted that outloud) on the LIRR and the compalints have been the same thing over and over...loud people, taking up more than one seat...rude people....
Get it??? its NOT going to change!!!  so it looks like you will have to change with it! Get ear plugs, turn up your Ipod, change cars or get a job where you an drive your own car and not use public transportation!!
Sorry but I'm getting tired of the same complaints over and over.....Write a letter to the MTA or go to the publi hearings if your commute is that bad....otherwise suck it up!!

It's perfectly ok to have your conversations but in a respectful volume and respectful of others as you would in any other public place.
We all have to share public spaces. All I'm asking is for consideration.

No Im not! I commute with my DH every morning and rarely do we say anything to each other AND if we do ...I know how to use my "inside voice". We get on the train, put our headphones on and ge a nice nap in....
Im just saying that you are always complaining about your commute that maybe you are the problem...not everyone else...

The thread was appropriately titled. If you don't want to hear the complaints, you're free to read other threads instead. Sometimes people just need to vent, whether or not it'll do any good.
