Due to the Amtrak derailment in Penn Station, LIRR anticipates cancellations and delays for this evening's rush hour. To avoid delays, customers are advised to leave NYC before 4PM or delay departure from the city until after 8PM. Customers may also wish to consider departing from Atlantic Terminal in Brooklyn.

I left work already. I never ran so fast in my life. I made it from my office to my train in 4 min. I can only imagine what my face looked like on security cams

God forbid my job would let us go early, they would probably make us stay until 8pm !
If it were Metro North, everybody would be gone. Guess where the execs live ?
Sigh, I'll have to take the not-so-express bus home.

I just checked.
The 5:14 Great Neck will be combined with 5:11 Port Wash. Crowded but doable. First stop is Bayside.

Due to the Amtrak derailment, the LIRR has lost more than 50 percent of its normal track space at Penn Station. Typically, the LIRR has use of nine departure tracks, Tracks 13 through 21, but will be limited to Tracks 18 through 21 during Friday rush hour.

I just got on the train. Penn was packed and so is the one I hopped on. Totally packed. They're starting to cancel trains now.

I'm on the train now. Penn was crowded. My train is packed. People standing in the aisles. I took a 3:49 train out.

Usually speed...but who knows in this instance! I feel like there is a derailment at least once a month between the trains in the tri -state area.
My sister is taking Amtrak from MI to FL next week...like 30 hours on a train. She says it's "safer" than flying. I say she's out of her mind.

My husband is taking the train to lindenhurst? Lyndhurst? Far. Very far. I'm meeting him there but I don't feel like sitting in traffic. Pizza tastes so good alone on the couch with my feet up under a blanket.
