LH surge - how many days?

How many days do you normally get a surge???

I have been using the test for 8 months and I usually only get it for 2 days.... meaning
day 1 PM
day 2 AM & PM
day 3 only AM


This cycle:
day 1 PM
day 2 AM & PM
day 3 AM & PM
day 4 AM... PM TBD

this seems so strange! RE did blood on Day 2 and confirmed it.

do you have PCOS?

i suspected i had it but the OPKs proved it and that's why i decided to see an RE. i was getting 4-5 days of +OPKs and temping and never had temp shifts.

did your RE say that the level of LH was normal? if so then maybe you are just catching a longer surge. for me my LH levels were much much higher than they should have been.

if you have PCOS sometimes the levels and length of the surge are longer but you will O in the end. sometimes the level will stay high and you don't O (and may not even have mature follicles). it all depends but since you are already seeing an RE you should speak to them about your concern and ask that they monitor the levels and do sonos so you know whats going on.

I always stopped testing after my first positive. Sometimes your body might gear up to ovulate and surge, but it takes a little while so it could stay positive longer. Likely you just caught the really beginning and really end.

Regardless, if you're under the care of an RE now, let him worry about it!

No PCOS, I went to RE for very high FSH.

She said the LH level and other levels tested were fine on Wednesday and that they confirmed ovulation. My temp shifted the morning of day 2 of the positive test and has stayed that way.

Its just strange cause I always test until it goes normal again (just my way of trying to keep track of what my body is doing)... and this never happened before! Oh well!
