Re: Lets start a TODDLER thread!
does anyone have any suggestions on how to get my son to sleep past 6 a.m.?? Or do you think he's just an early bird unlike his parents.

HE TAKES A BATH AT ABOUT 8-8:30 AND LIGHTS OUT AT 9. CAN'T GET HIM AWAY FROM THAT NIGHT BOTTLE EITHER

does he nap during the day? I've heard that sleep begets sleep. Or the more they sleep, the more they will sleep. If he is overtired, it could be disrupting his nightime sleeping.
99% of the time Aidan sleeps a solid 12 hours, usually down for the night at 8:30pm

Re: Lets start a TODDLER thread!
I'm with you on this one. If I can get her to sleep by 7:30pm, she can make it to 8am. Of course that screws me up during the week when I need to have her dressed & out of the house by 7am.

Re: Lets start a TODDLER thread!
I think I have an early bird too! 7 am is late in my house. But i have noticed that if I put him to bed later than 7:30-8 he sleeps horribly and wakes up very early. So maybe try an earlier bedtime.

In this house, terrible 2's started at about 19months when the "I do it myself" peppered their speech.

My daughter still takes a night bottle also, glad im not alone!!! she was waking up 2 times a night when we put her to bed at 8 so now we let her stay up later and she sleeps through the night plus she sleeps in a bit the next morning usually until about 9.

Re: Lets start a TODDLER thread!
i will definitely try to put him down to sleep aerlier. He actually takes a great nap during the day at about 12 noon and sleeps for a good 2-2 1/2 hours. I tried not giving him that nap, and oh boy!! What a hellish day that was!!

Yup-- i agree with this post.. my son is 2.5 and if he goes to bed later than 8 he is up at the butt crack of dawn.. if he is in his bed by 7:30-8 he is out until about 8 am..
Ok, my turn... any advice on how to take away the night time cup? (we give it to him in a nuby) He just wont sleep without it, sometimes if we are out late and inthe car and dont have it on us he will pass out and I am exstatic, but most nights-95% of them he HAS to have his cups and sometimes even asks for more.. And its milk, not water.. I feel like a bad mommy..

MTTB: What about cutting down your child's nap from 2 1/2 hours to 2 hours? Maybe that 1/2 hour will help.

Re: Lets start a TODDLER thread!
Hi everyone!! Well, last night I put him down at 8:20. He slept until 7 this morning instead of 6 so I think this might be working. I'm going to try 8:00 tonight. Do you think that's too early??Maybe I'll get him to sleep until 7:30 or 8:00 a.m. If he does I owe you all a really big one!!!!
