Leggins for work
Sometimes I feel like I am totally out of step with fashion but this one really has me .
Are leggins with a hip length top appropriate in the workplace ?
Just to give you the setting - We work in the financial professional field. We see clients or potential clients every day often in thier place of work, sometimes in thier home. Some clients are dessed business standard, some business casual some very casual.

Re: Leggins for work
In a business that requires business or business casual no its not acceptable. My boss would have a fit.

Leggins for work
I only wear leggings with a dress of tunic length top that COMPLETELY covers my butt.
I am not in a workplace environment, FTR. I am a SAHM.

I wouldn't wear leggings to work, even though the dress code is very laid back.

Re: Leggins for work
in education, we often wear leggings but with a longer top or sweater dress plus boots and jewelry. i can't imagine anyone wearing a top that doesn't cover her rear to work in a school or offices!

Leggins for work
Def not appropriate for Business casual. Business casual to me is dress pants/ knee length skirt and a cute top.

IMO leggins and a shirt that doesn't cover the entire ass are not acceptable public attire.

Re: Leggins for work
I wore leggings to work once. I wore it with a tunic that completely covered my butt. It "looked" business casual but I felt SO uncomfortable, don't know what I was thinking, and I never did it again.

Leggins for work
For work- I think the shirt should cover the person's bottom and then it is acceptable. Of course it all depends on the job and the dress code.

Re: Leggins for work
I wear leggings to work, but I am a teacher and I teach very young, active kids. I run, dance, sit on the floor, etc. I always wear a shirt that covers my butt though!

Re: Leggins for work
Depends on the job. Where I used to work, I'm not so sure bras and panties were worn on a daily basis. Quite frankly, I think that's how most of the staff got hired My boss was since fired True story!!
eta: and for those who are wondering... I worked in a school.

Leggins for work
Not in that type of work setting that you described. When I worked in an office, I wore leggings once on casual Friday and I still felt out of place so I never did it again. One of my co-workers would wear leggings all the time and I always thought it looked unprofessional.

Re: Leggins for work
I work in a place where everyone is dressed very casual (jeans etc) but I wouldn't wear leggins with a top. I'd probably only do it with a dress and boots.

Re: Leggins for work
It specifically says no leggings in our dress code. I wear them under a sweater dress when it's really cold out, in lieu of tights, and between the dress and my boots, you can't even tell they are leggings.

Leggins for work
I wear them to work, but I work at a clothing store and the ones we sell are a ponte knit, they are very thick like pants. Basic leggings in an office setting I think would be a little too causal...

Re: Leggins for work
Never in an office setting, IMO. And our office is beyond casual. We have field people in and out all day in jeans and hardhats.
I don't wear them outside the house, if I remember

I always thought this way, but i see so many women (ADULT WOMEN) with leggins, uggs and regular long sleeve tee shirt tops, and they pull it off!!
I think it depends on your figure and your "attitude".
some people can do it!

Leggings are not pants.
Word.
Wait! i have a pair that is so thick (From target!), there's no skin that shows through. unlike some that i've seen that are really thin and you can see skin color through... that's gross.

While the thickness IS important, I still stand behind my 'leggings are not pants' comment.
Any article of clothing that shows off a camel toe should not be worn outdoors.
Wearing leggings as a form of tights (ex. under a knee length sweater dress, or something similar) is valid like salad. Exposed hoo-ha/a$$ is not.
