Late 3rd Tri Girls

Do you find now when you tell people "I am so ready for this baby" or "He can come out right now" that the response you get is:

"you won't be saying that once he's out - and enjoy this time now"

While I'm sure that I may look forward to the time where I can just nap and do whatever I want I am anxious to meet him and even more anxious to feel SOMEWHAT back to normal again.

I find that strangers are the ones who say this to me all the time. This morning getting my pedi the girl next to me kept saying "don't rush this and keep him in as long as possible"

Re: Late 3rd Tri Girls

I had that first with my first. Now that I have a little one running around people don't say it.

I found that afterwards it was great not being pregnant anymore. Being able to sleep on your stomach, not being uncomfortable, etc! But there were times when I reflected back and thought how much easier it was taking care of the baby when you are pregnant. It's all relative. I think that people just need to talk sometimes and they don't realize how annoying it can be. Especially to a pregnant woman who is uncomfortable!!!

Re: Late 3rd Tri Girls

Yes- I hear it all the time. I KNOW I should enjoy the last days of solitude- but right now, I feel like everything's on HOLD til she arrives.

There is NOTHING left to do- and it's not like I can really GO anywhere or DO anything. I am too big to feel comfortable walking more than a short distance. None of my "nice clothes" fit. I can't sit in a chair for longer than a few minutes before I feel uncomfortable. SHOOT- I can barely wipe my own @ss anymore.....

I WANT HER OUT!!!!!

Actually it is funny - I am very uncomfortable but I am okay with her staying in a bit longer - BUT my parents, friends, DH, family coworkers are all saying she needs to come soon and are constantly calling or asking if she has popped out yet.

Re: Late 3rd Tri Girls

I completely understand, although I have the opposite problem. I am not ready for her to come out (of course if she came today I'd adjust Chat Icon ), and people keep insisting "boy, you must really be wanting her out" or the like... and when I tell them no, I'm happy she's still in there b/c I've got lots to do, they kind of argue with me, as though I'm crazy, even after I say it's because I've been very lucky with the ease & comfort of this pregnancy. But they just insist I must be counting down the minutes & seconds, and I'm not, but they don't listen Chat Icon

I think people don't know how to respond to someone complaining.

Wait until they say you should be grateful for the baby in your belly.Chat Icon

With my second pregnancy, I couldn't believe how uncomfortable it was. I hope you all go soon.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Late 3rd Tri Girls

People say that to me all the time. What I find funny is it's usually people I know who DON'T have kids who have this view, although I'm sure it's shared by many women who do have kids as well. When DH and I decided to have children, we knew full well what it would mean and had an idea of how our lives would change. Now at 38 1/2 wks pregnant, yes...I DO want my body back and I DO want him here. I try not to let it bother me when people make those comments.

Yes. Then they look at my ankles and feel "bad" for me.
